Hi Kitty !

We are staying at the Spring Hill in Gurnee/Waukgen.  My brother is a Retired Navy Chief and he said to not stay right near the base.  Not a great area ! LOL !!  So I took my little brothers advice and went North.  Yes it has been very difficult, but I know he is in good hands and so very proud of him.  He went to college 1 year, but paying all of the money back made him nervous with the jobs situation, so this way he can finish college and do something great.  Where are you staying?  Same here, we sure hope to get a call also !

Merry Christmas to you and your family !

Merry Christmas to all of you.....my best friend today is my cell phone. I think that was smart of your son to go into the Navy. Job situation is definitely uncertain. Our son wasn't really ready to go to college, he had enough of class rooms, he thrives more on hands on physical learning. He has A school in Great Lakes too. The plan is for graduation on the 10th and then have the weekend with him too. Our reservations are at the Residence Inn at Waukegan Gurnee. We get in the 8th and check out the 13 th. We then are going to embassy suites downtown and stay 3 nit before we go home. We have never been to Chicago before so we thought we would go to museums and such while we are there. We hope after A school he will go to C school but will see. I have never went so long without talking to him...drives me crazy. Our friends don't really understand. We wonder too constantly how he is feeling, what he's doing and probably the hardest for me is if he's having a tough time I'm concerned that he DOSEN'T know we are thinking of him and not having a great time without him. We don't know if he's received our letters. Just waiting to talk to him.....

OMG, Kitty !  Your thoughts are our exact thoughts, constantly thinking about him and what they are doing and feeling !  Regretting their decision.  You are so right, people that are not going through this have no idea and don't understand.  We have sent at least 5 letters and a Christmas card and wondering also if he has received them yet.  So sounds like we will be in the same area for graduation, awesome !!  Did you see my post about the RTC facebook page ???  They have been posting pictures and of course I take my time looking at all of them to see if I see Jarrod.  I am a nervous reck waiting for the phone to ring.

Besides my cell phone being my bf today I believe this site will help me get through the day. I'm going to look for your facebook info right now. My hubby docent think we will recognize our son with a shaved head...but I think he under estimates a MOM...ha have you spotted your son?

LOL !!!  Our son pretty much had a shaved head before he left !  He liked it that way and YES, Mom's know their son's anywhere !  No haven't seen a picture of him yet !  The website has just posted a couple of the DIV, but ours is not in there yet !!!  Keeping a close eye on the site for more pics.

I found it on fb, it dosen't appear our Ship and Div will be on there but I did look at all the photo's, it made me cry.....my husband said some of them don't look to Happy. I think they look great and I hope each of their moms see them. Thank you for sharing that you have the same thoughts as I do....because sometimes I think I'm just being a freak for my feelings and there is no one other then my husband that I have shared my feelings with then right here on this page.  I guess I feel its safer.. no one knows me and what the heck if you or whoever reads this think I'm a freak! Does that make sense??  The other thing that is eating me is the fact that I put on my son's FB page for all his friends that I had his address and I would give it to them....NOT one of them has even asked, they are home from college they could even come see us and ask about him.  I own a coffee shop so it's easy for them to come and see us to find out how's he doing. His friends were always over and we all talked about this before our boy left. It's very hurtful...

Kitty !  You are not a freak because if you were, then I am also !!  I am totally obsessed with this whole thing.  I keep telling my husband sorry, but he said if I wasn't then I wouldn't be a good mom !!  LOL !  So consider yourself a great mom !!!  How very sad that his friends haven't contacted you or anything !!  So what is that saying about his friends ??  Your right, they should have no problem coming into  the shop and saying hi !!  I posted Jarrod's address on facebook and not sure any of his friends have written him either. A couple have said they were going to but you never know !!!

Kitty !  I got your message but I can't see you on Facebook ! I see the shop and oh my how very cute !!  Go to mind and send me a message or friend request me !  Sonia Thomas Cook !!!!

I'm not sure if everyone knows now there is a facebook for ship 11 div 67. It's kinda confusing to know which to use this site or fb. Any suggestions.
