My hubby leaves on Friday too at 2 am.  He will be going to Pensacola Florida.  My son and I are going down there too it will be so nice to be able to see and talk to him again.  I was hoping for a call soon, but who knows.  When he writes me he doesn't give me a schedule even tho I ask LOL!!  Time is so close can't believe we have made it.  It is funny to me because the first few weeks were ok for me.  Now the first two days were horrible, but after that I calmed down it has been the last weeks that are killing me.  I'm over it I want to see my hubby!!!  LOL
My son is going to Pensacola, Florida also.  He said he was a grad & go but didn't give me a day when he's leaving.  Maybe they will both be on the same flight.

my son Luke is also a grad &go and headed to  Pensacola too Friday AM...

My husband leaves at 2am Friday for Pensacola too :) Skell456 - when are you going down with your son? My husband asked me to go down the same night, but I read on here on different forums that I can't & he won't be able to see me? /: just wondering if you knew a little more..  12 Days! :D

OH!.. and from what I've heard from my husband, they're supposed to get a call May 20th! Hope that helps a little

I am going down a week later.  They do not have liberty until then and it is limited then too as far as I know.  They have to earn their liberty, again as far as I know.  We are actually getting a hotel room for a month.  It is cheap down there and you can go whenever you want they do not pay for it tho.  This trip comes out of your pocket.  They have to pick a liberty buddy to leave base with for the first couple weeks.  What is your husband going into?  Mine is an AO.  Just wondering so maybe they can be.  It will be nice to know people.  I hope they do get a call soon!!!!  I'm getting excited!!!!
I am also going down a week later & staying in a hotel :) Thats really cool! My husband is in IT tho, do their buddies have to be in the same division? I wonder if they know eachother? lol 8 more dayyss!! :D
I'm not sure how it works.  Have you found a hotel yet???  I found the cheapest one is the Ashton Inn they are super expensive, but we have to do it ya know.  I am also looking for other places that do monthly rates I will let you know what I find. K.

I don't know if this is necessary or not, but if anyone has any questions about grad n go, I'd be more than happy to answer them. I was grad n go myself, going to Pensacola. More likely than not, if your boys are in the same division and they're going to the same place, they'll be on the same flight.

Just out of curiosity, are there any guys in 180 that are going to be AMs? That's my rate...I'll probably see them in our division. I'm pretty excited about this upcoming PIR and it's not even mine! lol :)

Aviation Structural Mechanic

Nope. When you get here the different jobs are separated into divisions. We march to class as a combined divisional class, made up of all the little classes (in different stages of training). I don't know how other ratings do it, but we all form up in a hangar bay at the beginning and end of the day, and each time a class graduates, everyone moves up a spot...So you start in the back and work your way to the front. It's kinda neat, and once you get closer to the front, you know graduation is coming up :)

And I'm a she, just sayin ;) I know in a male dominated field, it's same to assume otherwise lol :)

Julie and all the Moms/Wives of 11/180.  There is a Navy tradition of burning a blue candle while our SRs are going through Battlestations.  It is done for remembrance, sending positive wishes and love for our SRs.  I think they start BS about 8 p.m. Thursday 5/19 Chicago time?  Light 'em up ladies :)  WE all get a call Friday so I am very happy about that.

Laurel - I've been wondering where you've been. Nice to see you back.

All - just printed out my gate pass:

You will need the password provided by your SR in the packet send home to you the first week.

I got two letters from my son today. Hooyah! It sounds like the division is doing really, really well. His letters crack me up! Can't wait to see him.
