If you have a recruit in this division please let me know. I know that all of us who have someone graduating on 06/11 have to stick together. But it is so nice to know the family and friends of the men my husband is spending all of his time with. Also, I thought we could send letter or cards to each others recruits to add a little variety to their letters. Please let me know what you think!

I know my husband would be so thankful to know that I am getting so much support from his classmate's families. I look forward to talking to everyone on here and learing more. I can not wait until the meet and greet to be able to put a name with a face.

Good luck Navy Ship 11 Div 212!!!

well, we have too look at it positivly, they will all get one of the cards, so they will ALL be doing the dance if there is any 'making fun of'. ;)
Hello All,
It is good to hear that letters have been received this week. I have not gotten one for two weeks! BUT my son wrote to his sister last week, one of the gals he is friends with, and this week he wrote to my nephews and sister in law. So I know he is writing, and in typical fashion for him, he is probably only doing one or two because he hates to write! In school and doing homework, if I was helping him and told him a word, he would just say-isn't there something shorter? LOL I still get some info on him through reading those letters, so that makes me feel better. Still, I am like all of us-give me the juicy details! Let me know how you REALLY are and what is happening. His two phone calls have been brief and he hasn't sounded the best, so an upbeat letter would be good.

I have discoverd that no only are the recruits all sick, but I am too. Went to the doc yesterday and found out I have walking pneumonia! Holy cow! I had no idea it was like that, I just have been battling this cough for 3 weeks and nothing has worked, plus I haven't gotten much sleep. So, some good drugs later and I hope to be doing better soon. He told me it could take up to 2 weeks to feel really good, but I said that was perfect timing for graduation!

I can't wait for PIR, but I am very excited about getting that phone call that says "I'm a sailor now!" That will be something to hear those words! I will look at the 6/4 site, but I don't want to end up being a basket case reading their stuff and I know I will be! I appreciate everyone on our site and the information. It has helped so much! I noticed that our blog has the most replies under the main PIR 6/11/10 group! We are the BEST!! (Not that I am competitive or anything!) Let's keep our prayers and positive thoughts going for these guys in the tough weeks. Destinye-I think they will all appreciate the cards and won't be made fun of. Things like that are usually treated pretty special, I think!

Only two weeks left!! Hoo-Yah!!!
Hello everyone, received 2 letters from Nate, he sounds good, actually he says it is not too bad, although week 4 is the hardest of all them all so far, they did Marlinspike - learning to handle lines and docking the ship, also had inspections, inspections, inspections ha!, He said they earned 4.5 out of 5 and can now march around the base alone and sing cadence. He got a Marksman ribbon! He knows the real hard part will be next. he said he tries to volunteer has been laundry PO, towel PO, and "Asshole PO" where he has to help keep everyone doing the right thing or he has to report them ugh. They are learning to be A UNIT . He's also had problems with a toe and one of this teeth, doing better now. Nate is going to San Antonio, TX for A-school not sure when, he is in the MA master at arms program. I need some help in finding out about Reservists and Active duty and if there is a chance to convert from reservist to active... I am desperate for some answers. Any suggestions???
Glad we have heard from our guys. We and they are all in the home stretch.... Take care everyone. Maria
Maria~ I tried to type you some info once and for some reason it didn't post it. I'm pooped tonight, but I have a bit of info that may help you out. I'll message you tomorrow.

~~Good night friends~~
Hello Maria,
Why don't you start with talking to the recruiters for this information? They should be able to point you in the right direction concerning reservist to active duty. My best friend's son has been a reservist but is going back Active to be a recruiter. Most of his conversations have been with the recruiters and their chief. Destinye sounds like she will have much more information for you, but I thought that would be a good starting place.
Maria~~~Josh is going to SA for the MA program also. In Josh's last letter he said he's leaving GL June 27th and starting school June 28th and graduation in September 13th. Josh is also an active reservist trying to switch to active (we had 1 too many dependants to start active). From what we have been told once you finish school and have been at your post for 2 to 3 months you can apply for active duty. It is not a hard process, it's just finding an open spot. But from what our recruiter has told us it's not hard at all. He told ud the whole process usualy takes about a year, but that includes bc and school time also. He also told us that Josh can apply for local deployment (they called it something else, but can't remember what) to still get active pay. Which would mean he could go to a base or a ship in the states and fill in in a active duty space until an active duty spot is open. Our recruiter told us to apply for that his first time to report to his duty station. So for instance when Josh gets home from A school and reports to our local base let them know right then that he would like the local deployment. But our recruiter did say that that meant he could be anywhere (in the states) and those deployment are 3 months at a time. But he also said that by the time he has finished that he should be active duty status. I hope that helped you a little bit, but as Navyozmom mentioned I would talk to your local recruiter. But maybe now when you talk to him you will have a little info to start out with.
The local deployment is called "FTS", Full Time Support and it has all of the perks of active duty, pay, benefits, etc.
Thank You everyone for the advise, and I did think to call his recruiter but was not sure... I appreciate ALL OF YOUR HELP... Thank You again... WOW 2 weeks to go... Hard weeks but almost done. Hooray! Good Night all. Maria
i got a letter yesterday from Tynan, he sounds pretty upbeat. doing alright. he got sharpshooter. said he's leaving for A school, Pensacola, on June 26. i'm glad he will get some time in between, but not tons to wait. he's still having problems with his knee, says its not really getting better, i've been praying for healing not only for him, but all of them. i know they all have probably got aches and pains.

sounds like they are all doing okay and coming together as a unit and that is great! only 2 more weeks, i can not wait too see him.
Hi girls,
Went on the RT site and printed out the gate passes, they are ready to go. I don't know if we will need them but just in case I printed four of them. Thought I would give you a heads up. Bren
Hello Ladies,

Just wanted to let you know the banner is complete (on my photo page ) and I am ready for Meet N Greet. I was wondering if we could get and idea of how many think they will be attending MnG so we could save tables close by and get a group picture of all the Ship 11 Div. 212. We also want to give name tags out , so we can identify all the N4Ms. I am so excited and getting caught up in the excitement from this group!! If you can let us know how many will be coming to MnG.

Thanks, Brenda
Three in my group! Mike, Cindy and Joyce
