This is a group so we can get connected with others in our SR's group. I hope to meet new people who are going through this with me.

I had to write to my SR today and tell him that a friend of ours was killed in a fire at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival last night.  (Both my boys and I are performers there during the spring.)

I haven't sent it yet...I'm afraid it will throw a kink in his progress.

At the same time, I'm even more afraid that if I don't send him the information, he'll be angry that I didn't send it.

Any thoughts?

lwapupk9          I know this does not compare to a human loss but we had to put our dog to sleep last week. A dog that has slept with my son every night most of his life and I am not going to tell him until I feel he is doing well in BC. I just dont think he needs to be thinking about that right now,and I do not want him to be distracted because there is nothing he can do.  I am sure that if you wait to tell him and explain why, he will understand. They are in such a critical part of BC and still being ripped apart by the RTCs that I would wait til they are at a more stable point.

( just my thoughts, but you know your son best)

Just got off the phone with my SR! Division 322 is making calls ladies! YEAH!!

They DID get to call today!  Joe tried calling me several times and I didn't have the phone with me.  He left 3 messages and as I was listening to them (and crying) he called back!!  His fiancee was here too, so she, his little brother and his dad all got to talk to him!  He'd even called his great-grandmother!  He said he's sick as a dog and sounds kinda stuffy and congested.  Funny, with him being Medical Yeoman, I shoulda known he'd catch something!

He said that he'd failed his first PF, but it was because he'd had to double-time it 4 miles to buy new shower shoes and then had his PF 15 minutes later.  I can see how that could have happened...frustrating, but understandable.

I went ahead and told him the bad news about our friend and the fire.  He was pretty cool about it and I told him that I'd just mailed him a letter about it this morning so he should be prepared.  Fate has a way of lessening tough blows, I guess.

Hey Desiree?  I told Joe that I'd been chatting with you on here and that he should make sure to tell your SR how much you love and believe in him... He thought it was really cool that we've started supporting each other through their absences.  I do too...

AWESOME news Niki!  I received a call from my SR as well.  It was absolutely wonderful to hear his voice!!!
hey law thanks that made me smile. I was so happy to get that phone call i really needed it today. I told my sr that i have been talking to alot of people on here and everyone helps me through thet days. He told me that they guys asked he why he dont be talking about any of the other sr women and he told them because he has his women at home. He said they asked him if he was gay lol. I find that too funny hahahaha
so ladies are we happy or what. I am on cloud 9 i was having such a roguth day and i prayed for god to give us the strength to keep going today anf what better way for him to answer my prayer then giving us phone calles. I hope you ladies are as happy as me.
I am Desiree!  I am!!  lol...

Well i guess my prayer was answered thank you jesus is all i can say :) And my sr said he wrote to me so i should be getting a letter tomorrow :) so 2days in a row.

Y'all have NO idea how much I needed to hear that he was all right - from his own mouth.

Yes, you do...what am I thinking??

yes i do have an idea i feel like a weights been lifted from me. It felt so good to hear his voice :) he told me he loved me several times and actually cut me off one time to say it again lol. God i love that man :)

Joe told his fiancee that he's wanting to do a whole bunch of stuff while we're up there for PIR.  I won't have a car and will be depending on my uncle to get us around...if I can actually get up there.

I'm pretty frustrated right now.
