Got a call too - he sounded great!!  He also passed his PFT, so two tests down!  Most upbeat he's been in letters or calls.  Got an all clear on the medial issue so things are great.  I asked about the division and he said they still don't get along very well, but they come together for testing.  That was great news, cause that's where it matters.  He talked to me for about 10 minutes and then called his Dad and brother in San Diego, got to talk to Dad, but as soon as his brother got on the phone he got had to hang up - maybe next time.  My husband said that the problems they are having as a group are normal (even the sloppiness), that it's not just boot camp, but like that in general - just yucky boys I guess...LOL.  What a super great day - got to talk to all my boys today!!!!  Hubby will be home tomorrow night and my son's ship gets home next week.

Got all my reservations changed to come home on Saturday since he leaves early that morning, so I'm all set to go just have to get through the next 2 1/2 weeks!

oh I missed my call...went on a ride with hubby...just thought I needed to get away..he called dads cellphone to but we missed the call by minutes (on a Harley)...

Glad to hear that they earned their call by passing another test...told hubby had to be why he got to call...he did leave a message at least I heard his voice....

Great news all around...

Oh my gosh, that is so exciting.....on the "medial" issues. Wow, you got to talk to BOTH of your boys today, great news. I bet you're ready for hubby to get home, huh?  Yes, mine sounded much better than his last letter entry as well.  You know, my hubby said the same thing about male messiness too. He's the only mechanic in his truck shop, but the drivers use the bathroom sometimes, when they pick up or drop off their trucks. He said that a couple of them are disgusting. The boss told him to change the locks on the bathroom door and to keep the key. If a driver needs to use the bathroom, he has to come to hubby for the key. That way, hubby knows exactly WHO was in the bathroom and when. Believe me, they're being a whole lot more clean now.....after having to clean up the toilet seat after themselves a couple of times. LOL
Yay phone calls! I got to talk to my boyfriend for about 20 minutes! He sounded SO much better than before. He is officially an E-2 and did so well on his tests that he is eligible for graduating with Academic Honors! He is so excited to be seeing results finally. He also said he wasn't worries for Battlestations at all because they tell you what to do...you just have to follow the instructions. Also, sounds like they are in the middle of Hell Week which will be over on Tuesday. He passed the Marksmanship, so he will have a badge that says so at graduation. Glad to hear they are all keeping busy and doing so well as a division finally! From the sounds of his voice they can feel the end of bootcamp nearing...only 19 days woo hoo! OH!...and he said he probably will have to stay at bootcamp for a few days before transferring to the GL A school, so we get to have him all day from 6am to 9pm Fri-Sun!
That is wonderful news about his Academic Honors! Great job!  Mine doesn't really seem to be worried anymore...such a change a week can make. He actually said that this last week was hell week and here's what cracked me up.....he said, "Honestly, it wasn't even that bad!" Like I said, it's amazing the difference a week can make!   It's the same here and so exciting....he says he has the entire weekend of liberty, but has to be back to base in the evenings. He's really looking forward to spending some time with us, just hanging out. He also wants to go buy a new laptop. LOL
Congratulations on him making E-2!!!  That is a really big thing for them.  My older boy graduated E-2 and he was so proud of it, my hubby said it was really special (I really had no idea at the time what it until he explained it).  I wish my son would say more about what they are doing - it would be really nice to know, but his calls have been short and we've been splitting them so he can talk to his dad.  Hopefully next time he calls we'll both be in the same place!  You guys are all so lucky that you get the whole weekend!  I'm just happy we will have all day on Friday.  When Jimmy was grad and go he left for Baltimore on Friday - yuk!!  So we are very happy with what time we have.  It's sooo close now Yay!!!
RC, are you SURE your boy isn't an E2?  Mine told me, on his first real phone call, that he'd made it to  E2 status. You know how that boy of yours doesn't tell you much, LOL....I'd make sure to ask him. As I said, mine has been an E2 since just before the first real phone call. Don't be surprised if ole T-bone isn't as well. :-)

Actually he is E3 because of going to nuke school, so I'm not sure what he would get for advancement.  I don't think that he can get higher than that in bc (could be wrong).  He get E4 after a certain point in A School and sometime toward the end or after the last school he tests for E5.  He thought it was pretty cool because he can catch up with his brother who has 2 1/2 years on him!!  He just took his E5 test for the 2nd time two weeks ago.  They only allow so many in his rate so even though he passed the first time he didn't make it, but each time he passes he accumulates points that count toward the next time - it's really very confusing, apparently there are only so many openings depending on how many retire or get out of the Navy.  It's probably not likely that he will get it this time either, but he will keep trying.  In his bc division there really weren't that many that had advanced to E-2, so it was pretty special, that's great that B made it so fast.

I just saw your email.  I will email back tomorrow - have front desk duty so will have extra time at work.

Good night all!!

Hello everyone.  Ok, boy it's been a while since I've been on here.  I was a little lost today. My son is ship 11 division 128.  It took me a while to get myself back on track after him leaving.  But, I'm glad we only have 15 more days to go!  It was nice hearing his voice this past Saturday.  He sounds so grown up. He told him the division is doing well.  He is one of the section leaders, so he's always busy.  He said that has help to make the time go by faster.  I'm so proud of them all.  Now, where can I find the do's and don't for PIR? Is there a group that tells us what we can bring for our sailors? Thanks in advance for any help :)

This website helped inform me a lot in the beginning and to now prepare for PIR! It has a lot of information about what to bring and what not to (most of that depends on where/when your SR leaves BC). They basically cannot have anything if they are staying on base. My SR is staying in Great Lakes, but not going to A school until a few days after PIR most likely, so we will have to overnight him everything is my understanding.

Glad to hear your son is doing so well!

Good evening ladies...first and foremost 14 DAYS!!!!!  WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Got a letter today he is doing really well, making lots of friends and said they are the most disfunctional bunch but come together when they need to.

Still doesn't know if he's a grad and go...god I hope not...that would totally suck...but regardless whatever time we have with him will be priceless.

Have a great evening!  Oh, I ordered a St. Christopher/Navy pendant for him-came today to.  So nice it brought me to tears...Still gotta find the CAC Reader...then we'll be set.

Hi where did you buy the pendant I would like to buy 1 for my son.  What is the CAC Reader
