We are from Florida.... looks like he might be in with your son Sony 12

That would be awesome. I sent my letter going to send another tomorrow. Wednesday will be week #2, hopefully they have a recruit trained. I'm hoping I get a letter in response. We will see ;)

Anyone know what the "ribbons" are and what they mean?

Hi everyone!  My son is Ship 11 - Division 301.  We are from Tacoma, WA.  This is a completely new experience for me.  Only my father was in the military and that was during World War II and the Korean War.  He passed away before my son made his decision to go into the Navy.  I wish so much I could ask him questions.  I can't wait until graduation and will be flying to Great Lakes.  I am very excited for my son!

my son is 18 and from California and is in ship 11 div 301.  I'll be checking in often for updates from everyone!

so our sons are together!  How many people are in each ship and division?  80?  Wouldn't it be fun if we found out all of us here that have sons on ship 11- Division 301 have gotten to know each other?  Can't wait for these weeks to go by fast!

I love the count down clock...man I can't wait to hear from my SR!! I have written letters of encouragement since I dropped him off as well as cards. It seems to help me not miss him so much if I just write down what I thinking; "almost" like I am talking to him.

I am at a loss as far as how the PIR and graduation go - everything went to my ex. Would someone please fill me in on where to fly to, when the ceremony is. what else is planned, where to stay, etc? We will not be named on my SR's list due to his Dad; but I am not planning on missing this!!! Thank You!

From my past experience if your son doesn't put you on the list you cannot attend

they check everything at the gate if your not on list you can't go in You still have time for

your son to put you on and you will get info sent to you.

I understood they let everyone on the list in first, then everyone else; and that so far everyone wanting to attend has been able to.

If that's is right fly into OHare Airport   Days Inn Libertyville is 25 miles

from airport and 2 miles from base.Phone # 847-816-8006 You can also

go to www.bootcamp.navy.mil  useful info. Sept 21 is Graduation Day.

I got the most wonderful letter today!  My husband read his letter over the phone.  I can't wait to get home and read it line by line!  Sounds like the first few days were very very hard - but he is seeing a bit of a routine happening now.  He says he is making friends - hope it is with some of the people here :)
