For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the discussion group for divisions 301&302!!
Theses two divisions are "brother divisions" and will be training together, from the beginning all the way to BS21 their final test. What one does, so does the other.

My husband are proud of our son who is Ship 11, Div. 301. We received our first letter yesterday and it was awesome to "hear" our sons voice on paper. We live south of Atlanta, GA and will be travelling to PIR with our youngest who is a student at Georgia Tech. The weeks are moving slow but know that the wait will be worth it!!

Our son is also Ship 11, Div 301. Hoping to get another letter this week. Rec'd 1st letter last week, very short, but it was so good to hear from him. I took the advice of another member and sent a letter with questions that all my son had to do was fill in the blanks or circle an answer. I also included a self addressed envelope to help cut down on some of his writing time as well. Hope that will make it easier for him to write back more often. I agree, time is moving too slowly.

I wonder how many of us have people on Ship 11/ Div. 301. My son is named Mo - ask your son about him - let's see if we can find out things vicariously through each other :)

Sending Matthew a letter today and will ask him about Mo. I am really glad my students start back tomorrow - I teach high school so having some kids to focus on will be a great distraction as I wait for the weeks to pass.

Just saw your screen name. I too am a kayaking mom. My SR does not enjoy kayaking so much so usually he drops me off, fishes and then picks me up when I'm done. I am a teacher and lucky enough to now have summers off to kayak as much as I can. Really hoping for a letter today. My youngest leaves for Georgia Tech tomorrow. Thank goodness I have my SR's dog and my dog to come home to after work! Where do you kayak?

I occasionally kayak on the white water river near our home. It's not a fast moving river, but the scenery is beautiful. I prefer lakes though. You don't have to worry about the pick up arrangements and there are no rocks to scratch up the bottom of my kayak. (my kids think I'm crazy for worrying about that) There are a few parks around here that I would like to try but haven't made the time to do that yet. How about you? I too work at a school. Secretary. We got a call from our SR yesterday. It's was bittersweet hearing his voice. Makes me miss him all the more. He said he liked the survey type letter I sent, it was quick and easy for him to fill out and answer my questions, gave him a little more time to write to others. Which apparently isn't much time. He also liked and wants me to send more self addressed stamped envelopes. I will ask my SR if he knows a Matthew and Mo in my next letter.

The letter was priceless!! He wrote 5 pages on the Navy note paper, and he is not a writer! That alone tells me this has been a life-changing experience for him. He said the first few days were very hard, but he is doing much better now. Oh Happy Day!

hey all so we are staying at the navy lodge. we arrive around 8ish thursday. not sure if we will be too late for a meet and greet somewhere. but hope to meet some of our 302 parents at PIR. i know we can use first names of our boys so wondering if anyones son has mentioned nick from salem. he is the division yeoman. i got a short and sweet letter but not much info. not who is buddy is or anything so wondering if any 302 mamas have heard my SR name. please let me know and i will do the same. glad you all got your letters, i have only mailed 1 envelope weekly but with sorta a running letter from different days. my SR said not to embrass him by being a clingy mother so trying to comply but its hard. did send a phone card today with some stamps. ok hope you are all well. i finally got my drop off photo of us on here as my picture. chat soon! :)
