AHAHAHA NO NO NO  I missed my call from my SR!!! He didnt say much just that it is going well. He would call the house, oh my heart is breaking I want to cry. I have been waiting glued to the phone and was in a meeting and just missed it by a few minutes, hope he gets to call back!!! anyone else get the call? I feel like I want to throw myself on the floor and have a 2 yr old tantrum!!!!!

Please God let him call back! I have been so good and strong and just want to talk even for a minute.  :(

Oh No Jen!  I'm so sorry!  We are all crying with you.....

Now that Sandy said we might get a phone call this weekend, I've cancelled plans that we had where our phones would have to be turned off.

Sticking close to my cell phone, if not the house phone.

My son is also Stephen, from a northern suburb of Atlanta.

We missed our sons call and I cannot stop crying and beating myself up. Sad for my husband and me, but more so for my SR who was not able to hear a loving voice. He left no message either. So disappointed in us that we were not there for him.

I'm sorry Karrie - don't beat yourself up - everyone, including your son, knows you really wanted to get that call.

My son called his fiance today.  They were able to talk for 7 minutes.  I haven't been able to talk to her about what he said....I don't even know what time he called.  I had to find this out through Facebook.  Of course my little voice says - why didn't he call me?  I know....I know....

Mo's Mom - I completely understand how this would make you feel.  I haven't gotten the call yet, and I wonder if anyone else has gotten that call......

I guess my son Mo said that his division (11/ 301) is a bit wild and they get in trouble (I am sure this is the case for all of them).  He says he worries that he won't be able to graduate and that he won't learn everything.  Do you think that a lot of them go through this self doubt.  I wish I could talk to him.  Best I can do is write to him and reassure him that he is strong and will make it.

Let your son know just follow orders don't worry about other people yes

as long as he's passing his tests he'll graduate. They teach fast and he

has to study and stay focused. I told all my 5 that went to Boot Camp

don't worry if you don't graduate on time just do your best. They all

graduated on time. They just get over whelmed.

Thank you so much for the advise!  It sure makes me feel better :)

Ok, so I got my phone call yesterday afternoon.... That's a good thing, right?  Not for me.... It made me realize the fact that my son (the youngest of 2) is out of the house and will not be coming back.  Ok, a visit here and there, but ultimately gone and growing up.  I know this is a good thing, but I'm struggling with the fact that he's gone.  How long will this sadness last?  I'm hoping it will get better when he's out of BC and at A school where we can at least communicate.... Anyone else going through this???

I am in the same boat(no pun intended) my SR is my ONLY child...and I miss him dearly.

Your feeling are normal I felt the same way when Zack left I was depressed 2

weeks before he left he was my last to leave out of 5 all in Military. When he's in

BC write as much as you want my other boys got a letter every 3 days it

helps you and always encourage them never let them know your having a hard time

it makes them feel bad. When he graduates you will have more communication

skype helps but you will feel so proud as you see and hear him grow up in a good

way.
