For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 057 and 058.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Hi Ladies,
Same here. My son is on Ship 11, Div.058. I haven't heard anything from him either. I'm really hoping to get a letter or call soon. I honestly believe this is one of the toughest times I've ever been through. And saying that I actually feel selfish because I'm sure it is 100 times harder on these recruits who are working so hard to achieve their Sailor dream. I will post should I hear anything to give others in Divisions 57 & 58 hope. Hang in there! -

hi ladies, my son is in ship 11 div 057 too! haven't received any calls or letters so called recruiter who filled me in on ship and div and pir date. i'm so happy to know pir date because it's the date we'll see our sons and daughters...yeah. we are from central california so kinda worried about my son in this cold weather. anyway glad to "meet" you all and share up and downs of following months.

Welcome Aboard Ryan's mom! It is something we all have to deal with and it is tough. This is my second time and not one bit easier either. Hang in there and post when you hear from your son.We will all do the same. As far as the weather is concerned....it's much better than marching in the heat, so be thankful for the little things. lol

I am so glad I'm not the only one who hadn't received a personal letter or phone call yet. I was starting to get worried.
My name is sara btw, my husband left 11/14 and he is ship 11 div 057. Its been tough, but I keep holding onto the thought of seeing him soon <3

My son is on ship 11, div 057 and I just got my first letter today!!! I'm not entirely sure, but it almost sounds like their PIR may not be 1/11??? it might be later. Has anyone else heard from their SR?

I just received a letter from my son today! He sounded great. Says they are doing a lot of marching and folding.
He doesn't say anything about PIR. He didn't date the letter or say which training week/day he was on, but said the day after he wrote would be his 1st half day off. I bet other letters will be arriving soon, ladies!

Hi ladies,
Thanks for all the posts. I love being a part of this group because we are all in this together. I didn't get a letter from my son today but hope I get one tomorrow. He left on the 14th which feels like an eternity ago. Hugs to everyone!! -

No letter for me today either :( Tears just keep coming... Everyone at home keeps telling me this gets easier? But I don't understand how it could ever get easier.... Maybe they mean you just get better at hiding your feelings instead of crying while grocery shopping, or driving, or working, etc. Maybe its just because we are newly Weds but either way, January 11 cannot come soon enough! Hoping tomorrow is the magical today for all of us!

I know how you feel. The tears just keep coming for me too. I was so excited to hear others got letters today. I broke the speed limit going home from work to race to the mailbox only to be disappointed. I'm really hoping we get letters tomorrow. The waiting is soooooo hard. Hugs to you :-) -

Hi Ladies.........I have not received a letter as of today, however my oldest son Adam who in stationed in San Diego received a letter from his brother today. Alex is in Ship 11 Div 058..... He says they are marching, folding alot and he's really homesick. Adam says this is normal and not to worry. He also said that Alex wrote this letter (or should I say started it Nov 22) so he either just finished it or they did not mail out until a few days ago. Hoping to get ours tommorrow.
Hang in there girls! When you see your 'SAILOR' at PIR it will be all worth it! BTW...they are not "SAILORS' until they pass battlestations, they are called 'Sailor Recruits'. As I was once told, they must earn the title of Sailor. I was once clueless about Navy protocol, which is why I am trying to pass it along.

Good morning,
I hope everyone including me receives letters today that didn't yesterday. I also pray that everyone has good news from their loved one. I cannot wait to get home today and check the mail. I never knew a letter could mean so much!! Have a great day everyone!
