Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 025 and 026

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

I'm hoping there's mail tomorrow.  The years part is starting to settle in here too - it's a process, I guess :(

Hi Moms!

I got a letter today too!!  YAY!!!!

Sounds a little reserved but good. Said that BC is a new experience by far! But that he's finding the strength to get through.

Most of the letter was about his liberty time.  He definitely wanted me to know the facts! :)

Says he doesn't have to be back to base until 9pm each night.  And he doesn't think that he'll fly out until Saturday or Sunday!  Nice!

But ended it with "I can't wait to come home". Poor boy doesn't realize that it could be some time before that happens.

I think once they get through BC and have some time 'to themselves' that things will get a little easier. Plus they'll be able to FACETIME or SKYPE with family and friends.

Almost to the 30 day count down!

Hang in there!

Guess I better tell myself that because my heart feels a little heavy tonight.

(((((hugs)))))) to you both. Bethin I hope you get letters tomorrow. I was starting to think he didn't write.

Mom4 . . . it's going to hit him/them when we leave after PIR and they go to A school :-(

Our SR said he gets to come home for Christmas. THAT makes me so happy. I see a difference in him already. It breaks my heart that he is no longer my little boy.

No letter Bethin NY?  Yours should definitely come tomorrow.

Letter came yesterday - very short & non- commital.  Heaven forbid we should get any idea what he's doing lol.  Basically, passed PFA, swim & DEP tests; misses home; worried about graduating on time (aren't they all?) and has "Ricky crud".  Says he's pushing thru it & counting the days.... Everytime I hear/write Ricky crud, I still giggle since he is Ricky :)  Absoultely no mention of the dreaded M word - my boy has always been of the mind that if he doesn't say anything, we won't be mad - HA, you'd think he had gotten it by now ?  No way  - we are probably one of the most open set of parents I know - if I think it, I will say it.  Woe to them :)

Feeling so bad for the dragon mom whose boy is being separated for double vision - kind of makes my gut ache.  Ricky did say their division is down to 61 - the quote was "dropping like flies" - geez, it's pretty sobering.

Enjoy the day ladies, as always you are all on my mind....

Beth, Glad to hear your letter came!  Mine was short and sweet too. My SR didn't even date it so I don't know when he wrote it. The GF got 8 letters!! ha That's okay.

I feel bad for bluedragon too!  Definitely don't want to get that call :(

My son had mentioned last week to his GF that he was thinking they would call today??  I'll let you know if "she" hears anything..ha

Thanks for the heads up - I will now move the cell to my bra on vibrate since I'm @ work....Of course, mine will probably call GF too.........

I feel bad for her and her son, too. That is one call I really don't want to get.

The *dropping like flies* worries me, but T said he is doing good, so I'm much more confident than two weeks ago!!

I have both phones next to me . . . sure hoping it's today!

Here's to phone calls for 025/026 and lots of mail next week! It sucks when the GF gets it all. :-( I did finally mention to him in a letter this morning that I thought he should reconsider and put his sister on the PIR list instead of his GF of five months :-/ We'll see how that goes . . . the way he sounds when he calls, and the stuff in his latest letters is promising.

Have a great day ladies!

momm...I read yesterday that once they put the names on the list that they cannot change it.  Not totally sure that they don't allow exceptions on that.

We are in the same boat as M put his GF instead of his stepmom or grandma. Didn't go over to well with his dad but everyone has accepted it now. But...my ex is under the impression that there is a separate room for 'overflow' guest and I don't have the guts to tell them that's not the case and that the stepmom and grandma are going to have to watch it in a lobby somewhere. Hopefully his dad, the stepmom and grandma will remember how a young mans brain works and give him a pass. No doubt if M was a little older he would have never done that but for now it is what it is.

They can change it. Hubs told me that today and I've read it too...tell your SR and he can change it in a couple weeks I think it is

SR got rid of a bad girlfriend at Christmas last year. We were so happy. He said he was done with girls for a while. Not real happy when he started dating someone in March. Right about the same time he swore in to DEP. We were hoping he wouldn't have a GF. She's better than the other one, but still not what we hoped for. So young :-(

Seems a lot of people have the impression that they can hang out outside the PIR hall. Ummm NO! lol! Our kids are going to watch it on the computer in our hotel room. We have the web address printed out, too, so other family that doesn't go can watch, too.

And they have a *final* list that they make about two weeks before PIR. So I sure hope ours gets changed. It will break his sister's heart. He's only been dating this girl five months. Six now, but he was gone for that. *sigh* so young, lol

Hang in there momm. As you know I am living every day with the thought that it is absence that makes the heart grow fonder.  Hoping reality hits and they remember the importance of family.
