Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 041 and 042

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

OMG RG/socal - I got a call from my SR too!  He sounded up beat too!  Did your guy sound sick at all?  Sinus infection or anything?  Mine was!  He told me a bunch of the guys have it but that they basically "deal with it" unless they are really bad then they can go get something for it! :-(  He told me his little luxury is getting coffee in the morning!  Never thought I'd hear him say that!  Scared me when the guy behind him yelled 2 minutes.  I swear he was standing behind ME!  He said only a couple of guys have gotten letters so far!  I told him several are on the way from us.  He said they can only mail out 1 time per week but right now they can get mail everyday!  I know we've sent mail everyday so I was a bit frustrated to hear he hadn't gotten anything yet!  Maybe Monday! He held it together pretty well until he had to hang up - I could hear him start to cry, which didn't help me any! Man do I miss his face!

Hi everyone. My SR is in Ship 11 Div 042 as well.  Going to Nuke School. Haven't heard a word from him since the text saying he landed at O'Hare from LAX on the 22nd. Rec'd the Box and form letter and that's it. If your SR mentions him, first name starts with an A from California, can you post some news for me please. I am going with the no news is good news. But with the colds and such going around. He doesn't like talking on the phone or writing letters. If he could text, I would have heard from him. Disappointment and frustration. Any help would be appreciated.

CalBlaze - I was just heading to the post office, so I added a little extra in my note to my son.  I know he probably won't get my note until the end of the week, but I know he'll try to find your son for me if he doesn't already know him.  I posted something on the main page of this group with a bit more info.  Hope it helps you!

Husker Fan - Thank you very much. I appreciate it. Hopefully I will hear something from him or about him soon!

I missed my SRs first call!  We had a bad storm knock the power out and he didn't call our cells!  he left a voice mail - and while he sounded upbeat he also was so frustrated that we weren't able to pick up!!  I cried for an hour I was so disappointed.  But got my first letter from him yesterday - I've mailed 3 to him!  and it was obvious that he hadn't received any of mine yet!  I'm sitting by the phone tomorrow cause he said he'd call...

What a week! I recieved the box and info this week and I also got my first real call. He sounded good. He said he was in prison. I told him it was rehad.lol  no cigarettes, no phone, no music and no friends and family. I encouraged him to see the future. I heard the tv imitation yelling 2 minutes in the background also. I informed him that his letters are on the way. I think he held it together well too. I am sure Its a constant praying situation, but they will all be alright. I miss his voice because he isnt as much a mama's boy as I am a boy's mama. I love that boy hes my only son.

Got a call from my son today!! It was 5 minutes and he sounded pretty good. He says he's sore and tired. :) Sounded a little teary as I answered the question of ... "So what's going on around there?" He said they keep getting PT because some can't stop talking...lol. He was one of 8 that arrived the first night (Monday) and the rest came the next night. That first 24 hour period was rough for that 8. Only a few to get ALL of the attention I guess. I miss him like crazy.

My son was one of those 8!  I got a call and he sounded good!  He wanted to make sure his cousin got her paper work in to pick him up for Thanksgiving, since she doesn't live to far away!!  I am proud of him.  Miss him to!!  They probably know each other!

Happy Momma right here!!  I got a real call today!!  He sounded great, said things were going fine, he was eating well.  He didn't sound down and out.  He was making sure I had his address because he said some people got letters and he didn't, but we already had some mailed out so hopefully he will get them Monday or Tuesday.  I was so shocked, I really thought the first call he would be down and really wondering what the heck he had got himself into.  I really don't think he was just putting on a show for me, I can tell the difference in his voice when he is lying or faking, this was real, he really was ok.  That lifts a load off my heart let me tell you!!  Of course I was like so you like it, he was like well I wouldn't put it that way, but its tolerable.  This really made my day.  He was really excited to find out that a few people are going to visit him for Thanksgiving.

I got a call today as well.  my son is happy too.

my son is div 041

I was so excited to hear his voice. He was frustrated with the phone, but doing well. He had some trouble with making the call, so we only had about 2 minutes. I was actually on line making reservations for his PIR when the call came in. Miss him sooo much. He will be headed to Charleston for Nuke school after BC. My youngest.. My only boy. He is div 42
