Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 355 and 356

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is in 355.  He has asked for lots of letters so I am sending them.  I did tell him to tell me if guys aren't getting letters so I can write to them too.

My son said that also.  He was looking forward to letters.  I was so happy to hear from him.  If you get names of others and need help writing let me know.  Thanks for thanking of others.

I heard that there is a website that posts pictures of the divisions while at BC.  Does anyone know if there is one and if so what it is?

I found pictures on Facebook.  You need to "like" Recruit Training Command.  They post pictures there from the PIR's as well as some random shots.  I looked last night and did not see any of my son (he is in 355).  The last set of random shots were right after they got to RTC so I am really hoping for the next set to have our loved ones in it.

My son wrote and also requested a lot of letters.

I got a call from my son (Div 355) about an hour ago.  I felt like I won the Lotto because I missed his call last week.  He did tell me that their RDC is actually really a cool guy.  Must be since he has let them call home two weeks in a row.  He did tell me that it feels like Christmas with the mail he is getting.  He said all the guys love the mail.  So keep the cards and letters flowing.

I got a call also and was thrilled.  I missed last weeks also.  Just wish he had more time.  Only had 15 minutes or so but I had to share with his sister and father.

Hey everyone! I found this site after the form letter but just found this specific group. My husband is Div 356. Just like your SRs he has told me to send letters as much as I can..if it was everyday he would be happy! So glad this group is here..I like to see what y'all have been hearing from your future sailors. One more month! :)

Hi there!!  My son is in 355.  Our guys are over the halfway point, we are all so proud!!!  This site has been extremely helpful.  There are a couple of "veterans" whose help is invaluable. Plus people respond quickly.  This is my only experience with any of the military branches, and I must say this site has helped resolve some of the worries I have had.

It's definitely nice to have access to information at a time when we can't speak to our loved ones anytime we want to ask them the millions of questions we have! :)

What a great day!!  My SR called an hour ago (Div 355).  He told me everyone did well on the last two inspections and 2nd PFA so the RDA let them make phone calls.  He told me he got two 5.0's (I have no idea what that means) and passed his PFA (especially the run with shin splints)... I can stop worrying about those blasted shin splints he has!!  He sounded so terrific that it did my heart some major good!!  I will be forever thankful to all of the SR's in 355 as they are earning phone calls.....and I cannot express how grateful I am to his RDA for understanding the importance of support from and to family and friends.

OMG ! Lucky you! I have yet to receive a call from my son! Must be cuz he's older! 25, 26 in October! I know he has called the girlfriend! We have received 3 letters and we write weekly. That's great they are all working as a team to do their best! I'm so proud and I can't wait for September to come!!!
