Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 407 and 408

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Lol! I just talked to my SR and she said the same thing!

Same story from my SR.  Said that every time they get a few minutes to talk they get too loud and are told to shut up!!

Keila: Mine too!!! She said the same thing. Sorry, a little behind here with the feed. I have been busy since she left. I am hopeful that I will be able to attend graduation in Great Lakes. I just started a new job assignment so its difficult to know and I probably won't know anything until right down to the last minute, since thats MY SCHEDULE. Last minute alway!!! I JUST WANT TO MEET ALL THE NAVY MOMS HERE ON OUR SITE FOR 407 AND 408 AND SEE OUR DAUGHTERS TOGETHER!!! xoxo

Kelly, oh goodness... I think my daughter mentioned something about girl not being quiet too and I thought the say thing, that my daughter may be the one with the mouth from the South, but I think my daughter may be telling the truth... this time.. that she is not the talker, but given her nickname in the Navy RTC--- it sounds like my daughter may be causing a little noise. Who knows, right? I am sure they will all be BFF's when they finish RTC. I am praying everyday that I have the oppotunity to go to the graduation ceremony. I may not be able to attend and I so look forward to meet the mothers of the daughter of RTC. xoxo

Hey Everyone!  Sounds like most everyone is getting the same news.  Just talked to my daughter for the last time before battle stations and she also says their group is loud!  That's ok, the PT is good for them...lol.  I am prior Air Force and ours was the same way.  What can they expect from a Div. of teenage females.  I will also be at the Graduation.  If you are going, wait until your SR calls after battle stations.  That way you know for sure that they have passed everything.  For the most part, the RTCs will try their best to get everyone through.  Even on the runs.  The main thing is keep the letters going.  There's nothing better than hearing your named called for mail. Just tell them how proud you are!   My daughter's Bday is during BC so we are sending her Bday cards with her boyfriend's pics inside.  He's also Navy.  I know some may be upset about not getting letters in return.  Truthfully, by the time they call lights out, you are just too dang tired to do anything else but know they are missing you too!  The reason a lot of recruiters tell the SRs not to vlounteer for anything is that it makes you stand out and sometimes that's not a good thing.  If something wrong happens, the first ones to get into trouble are the leaders. For all those traveling, have a safe and wonderful trip!  For those who are not, remember, you can watch it live on the website!  If I can answer any questions, let me know.  I have been to the actual graduations at Great Lakes and watched them on the website.

Our daughter told us that they celebrate birthdays by doing Intense Training (PT).  They have decided to keep further birthdays to themselves... ;)

LOL...That's why we are sending the cards in plain envelopes.

Skyeheart: I sent a card to my daughter, but it was more of a GOOD JOB card, not a b-day card. I hope that was ok. It was a military card that I found at the Dollar store that was for people in the military wishing her best and I had a bunch of my friends sign it. xoxo

Tiffany

Those are kind of cards are great!  I have been sending some to my daughter.  She wrote back and said they really helped getting her motivated.  It's getting close now.  I can't wait for the call after battlestations.  That should come next Friday.  They say the calls will start sometime after 2 pm.  I"m so going to get in trouble for saying this but I miss my Poohbear!...lol.

Kelly" Thats funny and probably a good idea. Too bad my daughter is not going to be there for her B-day cuz it would give her a lesson in birthdays are just any other day and as you grow older, you sometime forget about them and/or try to forget them all together. I spoiled my daughter so she expects the world to stop on her B-day, which is not reality!!! xoxo

Tiffany

Hello Skyeheart, sounds like you have been down this road before - we were wondering if we should take anything out to graduation for our daughter. (IE: clothes, shoes, etc.) I don't know where to look to see if they can have anything while in their A school?  Our daughter didn't say anything about bringing anything either and I don't think we will have any more phone calls or many letters before graduation at this point?  We are new to this "Navy world" and are not sure how things work and don't want to get her in trouble either. Thanks for all your help and congrats and Thank You for serving our country in the Air Force.

Sorry it took so long to reply.  I just got home from Dover.  You can take clothes for her to wear for liberty but she has to change back before heading back to the base.  They are allowed to wear civilian clothes after several weeks at A school.  The instructors will let them know when.  While at A school they may be required to travel in packs...lol.  Usually you have to have at least three people to leave the base.  It's called the buddy system.  Basically once in A school you can have all the fun stuff back, computers, ipods, gaming systems, tvs...etc.  As long as you keep your room inspection clean, you don't have too many problems.  Just remember not to bring them with you to graduation because they will be carrying everything they own in their Mobags to the airport.  That's what we called them, the big green duffles.
