Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi there! Just read your post, and I can totally relate! ..(my son left 8/18 and is in Ship 06 Div 948). Friends, family, etc. - everyone means well, but all I hear, over and over is, 'he'll be fine', 'he's gonna do great'...UGH. I was even telling my daughter, if one more person tells me he's gonna be fine, i'm gonna scream!! I mean, we're all big girls here, we KNOW, we KNOW they'll be fine. And for anyone who knows me here at home, they know how close my son and I am, and they know how much of a fine young man Davon's turned out to be, and that we've never been apart. Telling me he'll be fine is NOT comforting by any stretch. I'm with you - cry, let the stomach just ache for him...what can we say - we're some of the best moms around!! Nice to meet you, and thanks for listening to me too! :)

Oh my...ursula8, I feel exactly the same...I get so frustrated when people tell me he's gonna be fine. I agree, we raised them to be wonderful young men, I know he's gonna be fine, its this broken heart that I am having such a hard time with. I just wish I could hear from him....oh well...Im hanging in here as best as I can. He is more then my son, we are great friends, I miss our conversations, I miss talking about our days, he is just so genuine, and I miss his sweet spirit so much.

Hi Victoria! Welcome! So glad you're in this group too!
Ursula, Nicksproudmom and newnavymom - I'm totally with you. No one else gets it. Even my husband (my son's step-dad) doesn't really get why I cry sometimes. I KNOW he's going to be fine! But sometimes it helps to just talk with other Mom's that are going through it too. My friends mean well, but it's just not the same.
So glad we have eachother. Hang in there Ladies - we can do this! -

I want to be asleep. But I can't seem to fall asleep. I am just sitting here crying.
I miss my baby something bad.
I want to hold him in my arms just for a minute and then let him go back. THIS IS THE LONGEST I HAVE EVER BEEN AWAY FROM HIM. My stomach is in knots and I can't sleep and I know you ladies are the only ones who understand.
Do you ever get tired of everyone saying he's just fine?
How the heck do they know what he is going through. And maybe it's not all about them.
We gave birth to them and they are a part of us and it feels like there is a big hole where he once was. -

Not sure if everyone is aware that anything we type in our groups can be read by non members.
So be careful putting info like where you will be staying and dates and of course your addresses.
It concerns me that many of us have the addresses for our boys on here.

I just received my husbands form letter yesterday and he is in Ship 12 Div 344! My husband and I have been married for 8 years we have two children, ages 7 and 19 months! This is the longest time we've been away from one another since the first time we met 10 years ago. It has been really hard being away from him... but those 3 sentences I received from him in his form letter have lifted my spirits. I can't wait to plan our trip to see him at his PIR on 10/15. I also look forward to getting to know all of you better!
