I sure hope my son is not causing DIV 344 trouble. I really worry. He didn't mention recruits by name did he? I glad he sounds good...I'm heading home to check my mail now. My fingers are crossed!!
No...he didn't mention anyone by name...Im sure he's not....

It'll be ok...hope your letters are there!!
I am sooo happy that you got your letter. I cried reading this.
I checked the mail earlier and nothing. After I saw that so many got letters today my husband went and checked again. NOTHING. UGH.
TOMORROW for sure.
Keep your head up sweetie.....mail is just so crazy in certain parts of the US....you will get your letter...if not tomorrow, I bet at least by Saturday...

Sending a big hug your way!!
Thank you.
I have a feeling it will be tomorrow. I PRAY IT WILL BE TOMORROW.
I just want to hear from my baby again.

I was reading a book last night that I read to him when he was younger.
He just told me a few weeks before he left that he always loved that book.

I Love you Forever.
I'll Like You For Always
As Long As I'm Living My Baby You'll Be.

Well of course I cried. It is so hard to believe that this is a new stage in life.
It's so hard to let that little boy go. Even though he is now a man. I just want him to crawl back in my lap and let me hold him. For just a while longer.
He used to crack me up. At 12 he was as tall as I am 5'3". He would come and sit in my lap in the rocker and ask me to sing to him. He always knew how to get to me. He has not done that since he was 17. Boy OH Boy do I miss those days.

Thanks for the hug.
Awwww... such a sweet book... my husband reads that to our kids!!!

Don't worry tomorrow is our day... I think the weather might have something to do with it! Or the fact that we're farther out than others! But tomorrow is the day! :)

I really... really... need to hear something from him! So I'm believing it is tomorrow!

I'm soooo happy for those that did receive a letter... it's great to hear that for the most part everyone is doing well.
Rebecca, we have that book. That's a great book! Thanks for your words of wisdom and for your strength. It is really helpful to talk to other mothers. I will talk to you tomorrow and pray that we all get letters!
Good Morning all. Today is our day for letters for sure.
I'm going to try and remain calm and not pester the mail lady.
God give me peace to make it through this day, with or without a letter from my baby.
I hope my husband isn't one of those not taking it seriously. With him being 24 I highly doubt it would be him though. You'd think he is old enough to not act that way. I wanna know who my hubby's bunkmate is! I would love to know if it is a son/husband/bf of someone on here!

I'm so ready for my letter! I wanna know what he thinks of the place and everyone around him.
Well I read my letters and I cried! He put over and over that he hates it and regrets this decision. He says some guys are cool, others make fun of him cause he is small and can't swim. (He is about 5'6" and 115) He is being sent to a Social worker to overcome his fear of swimming (not swimming, but putting his head underwater). He says the food is great though. He keeps saying how much he took for granted and how he would give anything to have it all back, even though our life did suck. He says this was a huge mistake and has regretted it since day 1.

That's really hard to hear but he did say the RDC's are cool, but the Cheif PO is tough, just doing their job though. I knew this was coming I just didn't realize how hard it would be. Thanks!
Wow, can I cry with you? He is in the same Ship and Division as my son. I can understand the part about putting his head underwater...I don't like it either. I will pray for Drew (is that his name?)......I'm sure he has some great strengths though because he made it this far. I would say when you write letters, focus on what his strengths are.......I know he hates it now....something good has to come of it though. He may just love swimming after all this.... :-)

Thank you for sharing your letter.

Shari (newnavymom)
my sailor said he initially thought he regreted his decision too! It will get easier and he is saying things are better now. I am sure the first week was rough...it'll get easier!
