Beleive me it did I tried forever to get rid of that dang thing and guess what I am still feeling great today!

Good morning everyone!!!Got a letter from my son yesterday!! He seems to be in good spirits in spite

of the teams rough beginning. He said the team is finally coming together, which I am very happy to hear

about. Yesterday I was feeling real upset that the team was having a rough time. My son is a pretty good boy and I am pretty sure he has done what he needed to do because I can't remember ever asking him to do something and him not getting him done and I always  remember he was very serious about following orders of his superiors.I know that he has a strong faith in God, which I know is helping him through this and hopefully helping the others. He did tell me that he is now like a chaplin or a petty officer for God or something like that. He is very devout and I spent my whole life with the main focus being for my kids to help others find an incredible faith, fire and passion for God! I am pretty confident he has brought that to the rest of the division. There has to be a reason , why they came together and had such a rough beginning. I know they will be more Amazing when they get out.because I am confident that God has a great plan for each and every one of them.

i also got my phone call from my son and as proudofgar said thats pretty much what i heard also except he did say they started out with 80 guys and are down to the 70s,he said guys are getting sent home for the littlest things and they keep threatening holding alot of them back 2wks,he said they are trying to get it together and when they march its kind of embarrassing because all the other divisions have flags and they dont:(  my son also said he cried and when he reads my letters sometimes he cries which i told him "you want me to start writing mean things so you wont cry" we had a good laugh and i could tell he was getting alittle choked up when we were hanging up. It was so great to hear from him,it was 5pm there time 6pm my time and the weird thing is i kept walking around the house with my cell phone in hand because for i really had a gut feeling he was going to call. He did say they needed calling cards to call,he bought one when he got there and i sent him one just in case and seems how they use payphones it automaticly deducts 30min. keep the letters going he said the guys really look forward to getting them. the guy who is in charge of handing them out was on siq (sick in quarters) from getting his wisdom teeth out and couldnt hand out mail for a day or 2 (ccant remember what he said) so they didnt get any that day (or 2)   i also have a terrible memory proudofgar      well lets just pray they pull it together and start working as a team,my son did say sorry if i say the f word alot but thats all we hear around here and they make us say it when we have to repeat them so if it slips out im sorry lol    god bless them all

Oh heck I had thought of something else he had said to me but I got so caught up in reading your post kylesmom that I totally forgot I am thrilled that you found out how many guys were in the div. I kept trying to ask about the number of guys in there and I don't think he heard me then I wanted to know what colors were on the end of his stick (he told me he was a stick which I had to research and find out that it is a flag carrier) and he said well I don't have one yet! They will get it together surely I am thrilled he said his wisdom teeth hadn't come in yet so he isn't having to get them pulled. YAY now I remember he sadi that everyone has been sick he said right now he just had a stuffy nose but there was sickness all around. He also said that they got their dog tags he was really looking forward to that. And that the guy that left from meps with him was one of the ones sent home!

Oh yea wait I may have already posted this but oh well, he said that alot of the guys keep asking him if his mom is on here and when I asked why he said I don't know I guess cause your all over it and people tell them! He is so funny! I don't think he even knows how a forum works although he is a computer (gaming) geek!

Sorry about the mail, that was MY son I think!....he's feeling much better now   =)

it sounds like alot of guys had to get there wisdom teeth pulled,or root canals done,or were sick. My son was sick the first week there he said for about 5days,then he had to have a rootcanal.   Im glad to hear your son is feeling better:)   I hope you didnt take it wrong when i wrote that about the mail being late,we were just talking about the mail and if he was getting my letters and he said that the one day he got  a few at once because the guy who hands it out was sick.

I want a phone call. I jumped at my phone all day, but no such luck :(

I just want ANYTHING!!!  Mail, Phone Call, Smoke Signals even!  well, I guess you can read smoke signals through rain, huh?

Here I am sitting up at 3am, dwelling on 'How's he doing'.

His recruiter said that everyone gets sick in boot camp, that's normal.  And, in his 'one-and-only' letter David did say that none of his wisdom teeth were in so he was lucky to not have to get them pulled.

My Phone goes with me everywhere. It was 80 degrees yesterday. I was out with kids and I wore mt sweater

everywhere to keep that phone with me. I didn't want to put that phone down and have a kid pick it up.I still haven't heard from him. I know when it is the right time I will hear from him. I never stop thinking about the infant picture of him under the Christmas tree. He was two days old on Christmas . What an awesome Christmas present and it's 19 years later and I still feel that way. When will we find out for sure that they will be graduating?I can't wait to hear from him. I have a feeling I will hear his voice today!!! It is the first day off in weeks. I have been working steady 3 jobs to get to that graduation and I have had so many unexpected things happen yesterday that I believe today is the day. While they are in bootcamp are they allowed to go out at all? I would like to put more money in his account because I don't want him not to have money in case of emergency or in case they can. It wouldn't be much because he likes to spend, spend, spend but I kind of feel like he so earned it .

80 DEGREES?????  I don't think we got out of the 30's yesterday.

I don't think they can leave base during boot camp.  And there has been no activity on my son's account.  He said in his letter that he set up an account with Navy Federal, and will have an allotment sent to his bank here, so I can take care of his car payment, and such.  Their first payday was supposed to be the15th, but that 'allotment' hasn't reached here yet.

Do they get paid every two weeks after that?I think it's better off if the money stays in the account I set up for him. I did it in a way so he wouldn't go crazy spending but I would hate for him to be able to go out out and not have a couple of bucks in his pocket. I know he's doing what is told. I can't remember a time in the last few years when he didn't and I want him to have the opportunity to let down when it arises.I'm not saying he was always easy to raise in fact when he was younger he gave me hell but for three years after school I went to every teacher and made sure he had his hw assignment and then he went to ROTC(Navy ) and that changed him. He Disciplined himself while I sat in awe. My other son who was an A B student in elementary well now he's in 11th and he's the hard one.If Santa was his drill sargeant that one would get nothing but punishment and hell.

My other son is a good boy. He's just going through alot. I just feel bad for my Navy son who ussually very good and probably has to pay for the ones that don't listen.
