For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 063 and 064.
These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

@Janine9797, your post made me smile! My son is also a part of the "nasty nine"!! We received our first letter last week, I was SHOCKED to see it was 3 pages! My sister's son is also in BC right now, 5 days ahead of mine, and her letter was only one, so I was glad to see my son had written a lot! He seems happy, says he is working hard, making good friends, and then he did mention the "nasty nine". January can not get here fast enough for me, I miss him terribly!! I hope you get a letter today.

We're from Westford, MA. There is another guy in their unit who has sent his pregnant wife to his parent's home, also in Westford. Kris' wife is also expecting. We'll have to get those wives connected.

Finally got a letter from Kris today! It was only 1 page, but it doesn't matter, it was a letter! The block printing lesson (during P-week, I assume) paid off - it looks great. His brother took a picture of it and my husband said "no, he got someone else to address the envelope." :) Then they read the letter. They couldn't believe how good it looked. They both know how bad Kris' handwriting is. His letter was very positive and he said he helped out "the slower learners" during P-Days. He says the Sunday sports page that I send is like Gold. Well, then, I'll keep sending it! Anything to cheer those guys up! Does anyone else send the one from their paper? I send him the one from the Boston Globe. So nice to finally get something from him and know that he is doing well.

I got a 1/2 page letter, and Zach wrote his brother a 3/4 page letter. He probably wrote his GF another 6 pages. I was so excited to read his letter. He said that they have been handling 'training guns'. This made me laugh, my husband was in the Army and they always refer to it as a weapon, not a gun.

Got a phone call today and a letter! Made my day! We were able to talk for over 20 minutes but it was so hard to say good-bye.

I got a call today. It was so great to hear his voice. I thought for sure that I would lose it if he was able to call, but I had no problem holding it together. The tears came after I hung up. It was tough to say goodbye, he sounded good, but very tired. I am curious to see if he gets adopted for Christamas; he feels there's a chance he will be...we'll see in 12 days.

@Jackie, sometimes (from what I understand) people in the area "adopt" sailors for Christmas and the SR get to spend the day with that family. From what I've read in other groups, usually just the 2 most senior groups do this, which our SRs are not. But when I spoke with John, he said that they may be able to. I'll find where I read this originally, and let you now where to find it.
