Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 063 and 064.

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Send your recruit phone cards so they can call home.  They have to use pay phones and cards make the calling easier.  The only place I have found that have the cards consistently is Wal-Mart.

What kind of cards ave you found. All I saw we're cards for mobile phones.
We will be getting on the road three weeks from today to head up to GL. Starting to get excited!

Where r you staying?

We got a suite at Residence Inn. It was big enough for us, since there will be 7 of us.

Yes 3 weeks left.  Gotta get my hotel reservations soon-any recommendations?  I am VERY disappointed that I did not get a phone call on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day-even prisoners get to make phone calls on Christmas!  I'm thinking his commanding officer must have been raised by wolves.  It was hard for us, first year without the whole family together

Can't wait to see him on Jan 18th. Hope everyone out there had a Merry Christmas and enjoys a safe and Happy New Year.

PS. I did find a "sailor" nutcracker at Target-thanks for the tip.  I am augmenting it to read PIR date.

Ugh! I went yesterday to the store that was listed online as having "limited availability". No luck :(. I was bummed, they looked so adorable!

We did not receive a phone call at our house at Christmas.  My stepson (Kris) may have called his wife, but I have not heard if he did.  Erin and I exchanged text messages on Tuesday, but not since then.  We also haven't receive any mail from him since 12/14 either.  Bummer.  I know Kris has written to Erin and she keeps us informed.  They eloped in September, so I'm sure he'd much rather write/speak to her than to his Dad and me.  :)  They are such a cute couple.

We have booked rooms at the Navy Lodge and will probably go to Sarge's meet and greet Thursday evening.  Still ironing out plans for the weekend.  Not sure what we will do for the afternoon on PIR.  The most fun things to do in Chicago are better done in nice weather.

Can't wait for the 18th!  Are all of you planning to attend PIR?  If not, let me know and I will invite your new sailor to join us in whatever we do that afternoon.

Hubby just called to say we got the 2nd questionnaire I sent to Kris.  Woo-hoo!  Can't wait to read it.

Well, the mail we received was in the SASE I sent to Kris for him to return a questionnaire.  It was all of his paperwork - insurance information, marriage cert, birth cert, GI Bill information, etc.  What a bummer; I was hoping for something interesting.  :)  Oh well, maybe next week he'll write to us.  :)

Janine

Hi Moms, I got an official "need paperwork" call this morning. He said he would call on Saturday. I asked how Christmas was and his answer "interesting". He said "we took our rack apart and put back together all day. But it ended good". Assuming this had something to do with their 4th week inspections. I certainly hope that the whole division gets to call. Can't believe PIR is 3 weeks away. Happy new year is coming!!

Just read Div 064 is making calls!!
