Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 313 AND 314

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Thank you CJDA
Hi everyone!! I'm so happy!! I got my first letter from my husband yesterday and a call today!! He's doing great. He told me its a bit stressful but he's ok. He just got 3 of his wisdom teeth pulled out. He told me a couple others are also getting them pulled out. Other than that he's doing good. They get to call on Saturdays every 2 weeks and they can write and send letters out on Sunday's. They receive mail every day so he wants me to send him a letter every day lol. And he is in a "push" division that's why they are graduating earlier than usual. I'm so happy and feel so much better. Hope some of this info helps somebody.

Hi!

Posted by Kim on August 18, 2015 at 12:48am

Just wanted to greet everyone and express how grateful I am to have this forum to turn to when I get worried. My son is in Div 313 and I received his letter (first ever to me!) and a phone call this past Saturday! I feel particularly lucky since he only gets one call. His twin sister exclaimed that she wanted a call too---and they had driven each other crazy until he left for bootcamp. :-)

Hi Kim, My son is also in Div 313...... I received my first letter last week and first call from my son also on Saturday. Wasn't it great to hear their voices?  Hoping for another letter tomorrow or Thursday :)

Hi Moms! Hoping for letters again this week from our recruits. I asked mine to tell me as soon as he thought he knew when their div would be doing Battleststions! I sure hope we get our I'm a Sailor calls before heading to Chicago or i will be a hot mess!
Hi everyone. Received a letter from our son today, I hope everyone receives a letter, too. He said he's made a lot of friends and he mentioned them on his letter, but I know we can't say their names here and he doesn't remember where everyone is from...he is looking forward to battle station but not so much on captain's cup. I would love to hear more about their division, how they're doing...take care.

Got a couple of letters yesterday. He mentioned some stuff we were able to talk about on the phone last weekend. But did mention tests and inspections. He is doing well on those and that's a good thing. Before he left (ok since birth) he's had the attention span of a gnat... He said mostly what they do is clean and study. Maybe we'll get calls this weekend. Finger crossed! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Sunday to all!! Here's praying we all hear from our SR's today. Can't wait for Sept. 18th.

God bless them all.

Received the "questionnaire" back from my SR late last week.  He actually put a note on it that he loved it. I'm sure it made it a bit easier and its nice for me too since I got answers to the questions I wanted.  The time lag is hard, though. He dated it 08/10 but had made some changes to it and mailed it on 8/17.  This being a push div makes it hard to determine where they are in the process.
I assume DIV 313 & 314 will be close to last for Battlestations.....
I thought I saw where someone was able to tell when those in our PIR group started Battlestations.... Just hoping we can have some idea when so we'll know when to be waiting for our call. I am so scared we will be in route to Chicago for PIR and still no call.  I have read that from so many other moms. Nerve racking thought!

Overall he sounded very positive about DIV313! Said he was in a leadership position for his ship, but didn't go into detail.  Has made a few friends also.  He just turned 19 while in bootcamp, so he's not the youngest, but has been out of high school for over a year and did a year of college- my request of him just to be 100% certain Navy was what he wanted.  So here we are.  His brother is in DEP now and leaves in 2 weeks :(  This is going to be tough.   My current SR will graduate on his brothers 18th birthday.   I'll have to keep my eye out for him while there at Great Lakes for PIR :)

My son is in Div 314. If anyone finds out when they are doing Battle  stations could  you please let me know. This IS nerve racking KoryandJoshuasmom!!

our kids will be together since they are brother divisions.  I have asked my son to tell me soon as he knows when Battlestations are- but who knows if I'll get his letter in time when he gets around to answering me. We will be driving to Great Lakes from Cincinnati on Thursday before PIR, so I have a feeling we may be one of those moms on our way and still no call !  I sure hope not. But I did tell him I have my "PROUD PARENT OF A UNITED STATES SAILOR" bumper sticker in my glove box and will put it on the car soon as I get my "I'm a Sailor call".  Even if I have to pull over on the highway, I'm slapping that baby on the bumper!

Kory&joshuasmom...the bumper sticker idea I think is awesome. We have the proud parent of a sailor (should be sailors) that he got from his recruiter...can't wait and specially didn't call this weekend, I just want 9/18 to be here already...
