OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I know, I constantly wonder how he is and what he's doing. I have a friend who's son started BC a week before Michael and she got her first letter last Friday. So If our boys follow the same timeline, we may get a letter at the end of this week. I can't wait!

My son is doing something similar, I need to find out what the rate is, but he is going into Aviation and will be at Pensacola as well! One of those "grad and go's" I keep hearing about! Do you know anything about how that works, how soon after PIR they go?

From what I've read on N4M they will get to visit with us on Friday after PIR then back to their ship by 8 p.m. and off to the airport early Saturday morning. We plan on heading to the airport Saturday morning to spend more time with him before his flight leaves. I have also seen some comments about getting to spend all day Saturday when their flight leaves on Sunday...but I don't think it's the norm. From what I've read...I guess we really won't know until PIR.
Nice to know he will be with someone else in A school that he is in BC with...I hope they are becoming friends...my son makes friends easily, has a very outgoing personality so if he's not to stressed out, I bet they already are creating a friendship!

You are correct, Kathrine. They sometimes fly out Sunday if flights on Saturday aren't available. If that happens, then families will have GL time on Sat. with their sailors, then time Sunday at the airport. All are bussed early in the morning to wait for flights. Make sure that all who are going to the airport have proper ID for the gate passes so you all can wait until flight leaves with your sailors. Some have forgotten ID in the past and were unable to do this.

Thanks for the info diannep. It helps when someone can confirm what you think is the right answer. LOL Even though my dad retired from the Navy...I know nothing about the beginning phases of the Navy. Do you know what type of ID I will need to take to the airport for my younger children? They are 15, 14, and 10.

Does anyone know if we can bring anything to the airport for our sailors? Such as favorite shampoo, deodorant, and light weight supplies, maybe home made treats for the flight?
