Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 019 and 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

Ok Mom's I just got a very disturbing call from a friend of mine (His son is also in BC at the moment with a PIR of 25Oct) said his son called him tonight & asked him to check his bank acct. He is NOT getting his full pay. My daughter switched to a new bank before she left so I have no way of checking at this point unless
She calls & gives me all the info. The Military are paid on the 1st & 15th of the month....does anyone on here have access to their SR's acct & can just check? I also was told by a different friend earlier today that her son (he graduated bootcamp today from the USMC) did not get paid. I told her she must be mistaken because the govt shutdown was/is not supposed to affect Military pay....now I'm thinking I better call her back & tell her that she was correct because it is happening to our Sailors. Anyone on here have any idea who might have an answer to this???

I would think that for those of us who's recruits just got there it would take them a bit to get the direct deposits set up. My daughter does not have anything deposited to her account as of today I will check again after the 15th. For those that have been there I would have no clue and what is full pay? They may need to check with  recruiter if they have that access and or any paperwork?

Misty, Recruits are paid on the first and the fifteenth of the month (a day earlier if they have a NFCU account). The first couple of paychecks can be full of deductions so it may appear they are not receiving all of their pay. Their uniforms, recruit card etc is all deducted from the first couple of checks. The allowance for uniforms will be credited back to them usually by the first or second pay period after BC.

Things should settle in on their pay by their third or fourth check. Do remember though, if they order pictures they can choose to have that deducted from their pay. That deduction (if they choose) will come about the fifth week of BC (time can vary).

Thank you for the explanation Ellen. Makes sense.

You're welcome. :) It can also take several weeks for their checks to start, generally three weeks after they have moved over to start training.

Thank you Ellen! I'm glad someone on here knows something! I thought oh my she is going to be upset when she finds out she isn't getting paid! But that does make sense! Thanks again!

You're welcome!
