Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 019 and 020

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

my daughter is also on ship 14 div 019! Where are you from? We live in upstate New York

Hello - I am new to this.  I have a son on Ship 14, Div 019.  His PIR is November 22.  Am I in the right group?  Thank you.

Hi golguin6! Welcome to our group. Yes you are in the right group.

Thank you.  I see that some of the families are already booking their rooms, travel, etc.  Do you know when we need to arrive and when we leave?  I'm sorry to be so dumb about all this.

You're not 'dumb' at all of this. We were/are all in the same boat mostly with the exception of those families that have had multiple enlisters. The PIR starts early on Fri so you should get there on Thur some time. There are several meet and greets, the most popular seems to be Sarge's meet and greet Thur night, it's free but they accept donations to help future meet and greets as they put it on themselves. Some stay until Sat some til Sun. if your SR is staying in GL for A school they tend to have liberty all weekend...if they are flying anywhere else they typically fly out Sat. sometime. You are allowed to meet them at the airport and wait with them until they leave. I hope this was helpful.... My son is ship 14 Div 020.... CANT WAIT TO SEE HIM!!!!!

Thank you for the information.  Like I told another Mom on here, I got overwhelmed by the site and took a few days off.  Crazy huh, my son can handle enlisting in the Navy but I can't handle a website!  I see your son is going to Pensacola.  Mine is to, he is Div 019.  Thank you again for your help and kind words.

Welcome golguin6!

Thank you!  Sorry for the late response.  I was feeling very overwhelmed by all of this and had to take a few days off...  I think I'm ready to get back on here - goodness knows I need the help and advice of all you other moms on here!

Good Morning All....How is everyone today? I am hanging in there. I am counting down the days...CAN'T WAIT!! I have air/hotel booked I now have to book my rental car. I am still clinging to my phone with the hopes of a phone call. Has anyone received any mail from their SR? I have sent a bunch of letters/cards and hope he has started receiving them. I can't wait to hear from him via mail or call...though I would LOVE to hear his voice.

Ok, I have to get back to work. Everyone have a great day!!!

Hugs to all our SR's and each other!!

Good Morning Moms.

I booked our flight and hotel! Flying into Midway Wed. evening and staying at The La Quinta In Gurnee.

Leaving Saturday evening because our SR will be attending "A" School in Pensacola so hopefully her flight leaves before ours. So looking forward to this and getting to meet all that are attending. Now to get a car rental.

My son is flying to Pensacola also....can't wait to meet you and your SR!!!

Good Morning Everyone, finally got my BOX yesterday, my daughter sent back everything but the mascara and blush.  She also sent back the canvas wallet she bought and all the pictures we collected for her to bring with her.  Sweats were rolled up which reminded me about reading about sending bandaids and moleskin in letters for their feet due to the boots.  Anybody else know anything about this?
