Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 027 and 028

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

The only reason I do get to go is that I am a teacher and I have Thanksgiving week off. If roles were reversed I would expect someone to take my SR for TG. So happy that I may have the pleasure of helping.

Huntersmom,

I hope to meet you when we pick up our SRs on Thanksgiving. I went ahead and purchased 2 plane tix for the day!

Kathy (RTCsmominnyc)

I know what you mean. I cry when I think of Cameron being alone there for Thanksgiving. He already told us before he left that he was going to sign up for the adopt a sailor program. I hope that someone adopts him for Thanksgiving day. I hope I can find out who so I can send them a Thank-you. If I know ahead, I'll let them know he loves pumpkin pie. :)

HOOYAH!!!!   I received 2 letters from my son today. One envelope had 3 letters in it and one had 1. I could hear his voice in my head as I read the letters.  I cried and cried as I read them, reread them and read them again. These are the longest notes/letters he has ever written. I miss him so much. He has made some friends and I found a couple of matches with the names on the Facebook page for graduation.  I had been feeling pretty down today and then this--made my day!!

So happy for u. I read his letters over and over too. Funny how we do that. I miss him so much. He still has not mentioned to me names of his friends he has made.. I wonder if our sons have crossed paths.

Aww that is great! Hope my son finds someone to eat with!!

Moms/Dads/Loved Ones in 014/028,

I am wondering about the centerpieces for our table at the M&G.

Do we have confirmation of who is making them?

Is it true only two are allowed per table?

I am happy to make one, if there are no other volunteers!

Kathy (RTCsmominnyc)

I responded on FB yesterday that if one is needed for 027 that I would gladly make one too--haven't heard back yet. I will send an IM to Natalie, today if I haven't heard anything back.

For 12/4 graduation, this is Hell Week (Week 4) for our SRs. From what I've read, this is a week of must pass tests for what they have learned so far, small fire arms and rifle training and testing (they can medal and ribbon here), testing on this week's lessons and lots more. One former recruit (now sailor) stated that it was the most stressful week of all for them. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to all of our SRs this week. HOOYAH to all SRs!!!    Fair winds to all this week!!

Anyone else besides me who have not received the Thanksgiving form. I'm still waiting and I am afraid I won't receive it in time. Also I am looking for the code to get discounts at hotels and airfare Please help, the only code I've found was for parking pass.

NavyMomSh14DIV027   As far as hotel discounts, I am not aware of any codes. I can tell you check on line, see what the best deal you can get is (AARP if you have it, AAA or other discount cards) then don't call the toll free booking reservations line for the chain---try to find the direct dial phone number for the hotel itself ---when you call let them know that you are coming in for the PIR at RTC (NAVY) and that you wanted to know if they can give you the graduation discount or better discount than what you have found....they usually have something.  Try the Holiday Inn Express - I know that they have a Navy Graduation discount.  As far as airline discount codes--I have not found anything on that so far. My son is on ship 14 div 027 too

Omg for real I haven't met a mom from the same ship/div I am so excited to meet you lol Hope you don't mind I sent you a friend request so we can talk Btw thanx for the info.
