Welcome to the Division Discussion for divisions 131 and 132

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important Every single concern is genuine Every single member is important to us We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is in Div 132 also and we have not heard from him either.  I actually took a leave from work because I know it sounds stupid but he is the first child to leave home and I miss him greatly and do not want to miss his call.  We can not wait for graduation either and we are staying at the Ramada and attending the meet and greet with our family.  The only hard discussion we have is our son is from a split family and his mom is not telling us if she is going yet so we can not put his 12 year old sister or 14 old brother on his list so we are not sure what to do.  If anyone has any advice.

Don't feel bad for taking a day off, for the phone call. I ride on a Drill Team and we were at a full gallop with about 11 other horses, this weekend. I had an unknown number on my phone and pulled my horse to a sliding stop. Yelled at everyone, telling them it was Tommy. It wasn't, but I really look forward to my phone call. Seven of us are going to graduation. So the other 3 are going to wait out side. Maybe with yours being kids, their let them in. Your son should be able to change his list, two weeks before he graduate. Take Care

I took off from work too so it doesn't sound stupid at all and this is not my first child to leave home.  I don't have any advice on the family situation but I know that is tough to have to make those decisions.  Hope it all works out for you.

No call this week...  hope that just means they were busy and no reflection on how hell week went!

This was what my daughter said was "hell week" so I assume they were really busy.  Just 16 more days (actually closer to 15 days and some hours now).  Glad to have had all these wonderful people to talk with during the wait.  I have learned sooooo much!  I was never around military growing up so was clueless and in shock when my daughter signed up for the Navy especially when the area she chose to work in the Navy had nothing to do with her degree - go figure.

My son is in Div 132.  So excited for graduation.  Will be traveling from Portland, OR.

katyna will you be at Sarges meet snd greet? my daughter is in the brother dividion 131.

I don't know.  What is that?  Sarge's Meet and Greet?    I would love to meet other parents and loved ones though.

You will meet several at the meet and greet - great way to put a few faces to the names of folks you have been communicating with. I will be there too! My SR is in ship 14 division 131. Getting so excited - not long now folks!!

Katyna here is the link for Sarge's meet and greet.  There are other meet and greets on the main page if you want to check them out too.  The meet and greets are listed under the little calendar on the right hand of the screen under events.

Thanks!

I got a letter today!!!!  I laughed and cried all at the same time.  I wanted to share some of what she said so I am quoting her story.  I hope you all like it.

"Today we did drill and a mock drill inspection.  Failed the inspection miserably...  but it wasn't real and now we know what to work on.  During the inspection, the section leaders have to fall out and collect everyone's outer garments.  Well we have to stack the backpacks.  Today was the first day those backpacks ever fell.  I was mad at first but it turns out, them falling was an act of God because one of the guys in the back locked his knees and passed out.  He fell backwards right onto those backpacks.  If those hadn't falled and been there he would have cracked his head open on the concrete.  One of the guys laughed when I said "I miss my mommy"  He was like "Do you mean Mom?" I said "NO, I said Mommy because I meant Mommy.  It was funny"

I really miss my girl!  I am so proud of her and her determination.  I can't wait for PIR.  Even found someone who will be there from my little po dunk town here in FL.  Funny how things work out like that.  I am so grateful to have this group to share this experience with.  It helps knowing we are all in this together.  Thanks!!!
