Welcome to the Division Discussion for Divisions 249 and 250

These two divisions are brother divisions and will be training together from the beginning through BS21 their final test. Your SRs, soon to be SAILORS, are becoming friends, and some of them may be heading to A School together.

Get to know each other, your SRs are!

Please still use the Main Wall of the PIR Group to post questions, and concerns, we “veteran” moms don’t always get to into the discussion area as often as we would like.

Every single question that is asked is important

Every single concern is genuine

Every single member is important to us

We don't want to accidentally overlook any of them or you.

Hang in there!!!

My son is Ship 14 Div 250!  He will be staying in GL for A school also!  So glad to finally get his information!  I'm sure they know each other MaMaCeCe.  Where's your son from?

Hi MissingMyKing! Finally someone who is in my shoes...well ship that is. :) We are from Riverside, California. He is going to school for AECF. What is your son doing? I'm sure they know each other.

BTW- you said you were glad to get his info what do you mean? Did you get his form letter yet?

Yay!  we are from California too!  So they must have sworn in together in San Diego..he left on May 26th.  We live in La Mirada, CA.   That's so cool!  Yes, I received the letter today with his address and ship/division number.

He will be attending A School for advanced electronics.

Made my reservations today for the Navy Lodge.

Awesome! Sounds like our boys are going to be good friends!! He is doing the same. He wants to do the ET part of it but I learned on here that he doesnt have a chose. I hope when I get home today the letter is there. I have letters I've been waiting to send.

Yes he left the same day from SD I didnt go to the swearing in...I gave my goodbyes at home. I was a mess!!!

I have my tickets and were staying with family which is great case it saves us some $! How old is your son?

That is so awesome!  Yes, the swearing in was a good/bad experience.  It was really nice to be there but so sad for us families.  I was losing it for about 3-4 days and just lose it periodically now.at least once a day though!  Yeah my daughter was just saying she's going to have to sell a kidney for their plane fare lol...I have 3 daughters and their families that are going to graduation although only 4 of us can actually go to the ceremony. You'll probably get your information letter today (fingers crossed)!  My son is 22..

My son is 18 and this is his first time being away from home. So it's hard on us. I got the letter today which was great. Now I can finally send the letters we've been writing.
Wow! Sounds like you have a big family. There is just four of us. Not everyone can afford to go out to Chicago for the graduation.
I haven't really had a meltdown in awhile. I get sad but I'm realizing that this is how life is going to be for us from now on. Always waiting for a letter or a phone call....
MamaCeCe, I got My son's form letter today. I so want to take my other two children with me to PIR, but the cost is crazy. I also don't know how much time we will actually get to spend with our sailor after the ceremony. I have read some differing things. I know he is supposed to go to Charleston for Nuke school but not sure how quickly that happens. I will certainly be glad when he can call. I sure miss him a lot!

My husband is Ship 14 Div 250. :) He's going to Charleston SC for Nuke school.

Hi Yolanda! One of my sons friends who is the same division and same area back at home, is going to nuke school. I'm not sure where but I'm sure they know each other!

Just got the form letter yesterday stating my boyfriend was on SHIP 14 DIV 250! He's going to go to South Carolina for Nuke School, but I'm so happy I get to see him at PIR! I made my reservations at the navy lodge in the car as soon as I ripped open his letter. Seeing his handwriting on the envelope made me tear up haha. I sent him all the letters I've been writing every day as soon as I got up! I'm so excited to get his letters and for him to get mine!

Happy for you wheilnpluto I felt the same way when I saw my sons writing! Can't wait for that real letter!

My son is Ship 14 Division 249, any other parents out there? Also anyone have any advice on hotels for PIR, recommendations or places to avoid? Thanks!
