For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I just got the letter from RTC with Ashley's address and grad date (May 06,2011) Does anyone else have a future sailor on the same ship and division?

I don't know ave, I was beginning to wonder myself. hehe, she almost ALWAYS mentions "Knight" in her letters. Maybe a little crush. I'm assuming he's extremely smart, her number one thing on the list for guys is they have to be smart and then funny. Sounds like he is both... then again, with Deb as his mom, how can he be anything less than amazing?? hehehe

Deb.. GET OUT!! I'm a graphics artist too! HA! Prior to this disgusting economy I earned a living designing websites and writing books. (You'd never know it by my spelling sometimes hehe - I give my editor a reason for being). I've done that for 16 years, but now I think I'm burned out.
Ashley was working on her degree in journalism when she left for the Navy, she and her brother are the smart ones of the family. Ashley is the comedian. That kid will have you splitting your sides. She is seeing a boy who was a Marine, he's a super nice kid. They are kind of taking it one step at a time while she is in the Navy, but all-in-all I'd say she has truley found a nice guy. I wouldn't be disappointed if she ended up with him. I;ve become really fond of him while she is away. NOW IF ONLY HER SISTER WOULD TAKE NOTES!! LOL.
I can't tell you how much you've all come to mean to me... it's like an unexpected gift falling from teh sky or better yet, popping out of the computer LOL.

Hey Shell, My daughter Marissa is one of those girls that makes you chuckle. You just never know what is gonna come out of her mouth. Nothing vulgar or anything like that she just looks at things in a whole different manner than most people. She is also dating a boy that was a marine. He is a really nice guy too. He is coming with us to the PIR. I think he really misses her. I also wouldnt be surprised if they ended up staying together. He has stood by her 100% in her decision to go in the Navy and they are also taking it one step at a time. They both understand that they both might meet someone else and agreed not to get hateful towards one another if they do. They will part as friends.
P.S. your daughter will come to her senses. She will just have to learn the hard way. Just a suggestion but I would not tell your daughter about what is going on until after PIR. She already has alot on her mind and she needs to concentrate on her self right now and I would be afraid it would be very distracting to her knowing that there is trouble at home and she is not there to for you or her sister. If she ask just be very vague about her sister. Just a suggestion...you need to do what feels right to you in your own heart!!

Thanks for all the details. It made me so happy to see that they passed the Marlinspike. My heart swelled with pride imagining their celebration of that event. Booyah...or whatever rah rah :)
Shell, what a weight...I would perhaps say something along the lines of. "your sister is going through a rough time right now." Maybe honestly say, "she's all wrapped up in herself right now and is having a rough time reaching out. Don't know if you'll get a letter from her but I know she would enjoy getting your letters." Like you said, you don't want to worry them right now, keep it upbeat, and then tell her when you see her at PIR.
That's what comes to mind right now.

I wouldn't say a thing... she may not wonder, with only 3 weeks left.. i'd just leave it be for now.. they have some of the toughest weeks ahead.. battlestations, pfa, etc...

Edited to say.. if she calls and asks, then I would say something along the lines of "she's making some bad decisions right now, don't worry, it will sort itself out, we'll give you more details in person." type of thing.. but in a letter.. I'd just let it ride.

So does that mean the whole DIV 925?? Guys & Girls?? That is wonderful!!! Its a good feeling knowing they are worling well together. I must say it's like us helping each other also!!! I didnt get a letter today but maybe tomorrow they usually come on Thursdays!! I hop she tells me the good news also!!

I love hearing from other SR's b/c my daughters letters are very brief b/c she hates to write letters. So I ove seeing what your SR's are saying!!

Thank you!! I asked Marissa about everyone using last names but she usualyy doesnt comment too much about other people even though I ask. Marissa is not a letter writer so I will take what I can get. And its usually a quick summary about how her week is going. Her letters are usually quite short. I am lucky if she covers a whole page most times. Once I got a page written completely front & back. But then again she usually sends 2 letters, 1 for me & 1 for her dad. In seperate envelopes!!

Marissa is in the letter "V". She did tell me that. She is like 4 people up on the right side I think. Marissa did not pass the running part. Missed it by 1 1/2 minutes and missed the pushups by 3. I hope she has passed it on Monday also! She is carrying the Oklahoma flag. I really hope to get a letter from her tomorrow. Thats the way it has been coming is on Thursday....So I will be watching for the mailman tomorrow.
