Hi moms.  My daughter grads 12/3/10 and I'm missing her something fierce!  Has anyone received a second telephone call?  Seems this division has less contact than others - a friend's daughter went to boot 2 weeks after mine and she's received letters and phone calls sooner than i did.  Anyone here from Michigan?

that is really sad... i am so sorry and condolence... let's just keep it a secret until he get out boot camp so that he wont mess up... my SR was happy when i break the news to him when i get a positive result in my pregnancy test and didnt know that something like what happen to your mom... will happen in this kind of time...
My son knew when he left that she was not doing good and stated that if something was to happen that he did not want to know. I only hope that at PIR he doesn't ask atleast not until the day after, I want it to be his day and a happy one all the way.
i guess if he ask you about his grandma just tell him that his grandma live a long and happy life and wherever she is right now is that she is happy and safe...
me and his dad never get along... his mom and i could possibly do that... his mom never get any calls... i also hope i know how to do that in my prepaid phone...
i dont have his dad's number and his dad dont have my number too,... and i hope i can do 3 way call with his mom... his mom is the best... and we agree to everything about his dad lol :)
I am from Melvindale. Do you know where that is? Hoping for a call tonight from my son!
i dont know where that is but hope you get a call... i'll probably get a call tomorrow if the RDC give them a call home...
Hi, bevtypefast. My son's in ship 02, div. 903. We all got a first letter and a first phone call two weeks ago, but I didn't get a letter last week. Most of the other moms, at least the ones here on N4M, seemed to have gotten a second letter last week. I'm totally bummed. If I don't get a letter tonight, I'll probably cry. I just keep reminding myself, no news is good news. Hang in there. Just remember,we'll see them 3 weeks from today!
The gas chamber gives me nightmares. "daughter" and "gas chamber" should never be used in the same sentence. It's too much to think about....let alone them having to do. But -- WE RAISED STRONG KIDS!!
Hi Bevtypesfast, My son is in the same division and I just today got my second letter, very short, with limited information, but he sounded really good and did not have anything negative to say. I missed his first "real" phone call, so he called his girlfriend instead. I like you feel very lost as far as what is happening and it is really bothering me as well. I agree that it seems like our division has less contact than others. I hope it they are not being punished for anything, although on the website they sent us in that form letter says that they only get 3 phone calls the whole time they are in bootcamp, so I dont know what to think either. I hope that you hear from your recruit soon, I feel your sadness. PS from Pennsylvania here.
Are you going to the PIR? Where are you staying? It seems to have gone fast - and then tortuously slow -- both at the same time! I got another letter a couple days ago...she is questioning her decision of joining - but I know she's just nervous about battlestations and everything in general. I'm just so looking forward to when we can get in closer contact with them. I wish I knew more about the transition between BCamp and A-school....such as: Can we take their cell phones to them at PIR? When do we send their personal items to them? Will they have any type of leave for christmas? It's all just so worrisome to me. I am a "planner" and wish I knew the answers to these questions!
Yes I am going to PIR, we are coming from PA so our hotel reservations are for the 1st to 6th, we are staying at the homewood suites in Lincolnshire. I have only gotten 2 letters as well and he hasnt said very much at all, but that he is worried about home for some reason. His girlfriend has gotten 5 letters so far, but she said he has sounded very upbeat. Is your daughter going to A school at Great Lakes? I have read on this site that we can take their cell phone, lap top and some comfortable clothing for our recruit so that when they are allowed to go on leave with us after PIR they can wear comfy stuff back at the hotel. I think they can have their cell back at A school. I also heard that if their A school is at Great Lakes they could get leave from Dec. 17th to Jan. 2. I have not heard this from my son, so I do not want to get excited to only be disappointed if untrue. I am the same as you, I need to plan everything down to the last detail. I am already looking at flights for him just in case he does get to come home for christmas since we live too far away to just go pick him up. I just sent my son a letter telling him he needs to start sending me more details, that I dont like to be in the dark about stuff, but who knows. I feel absolutely understand how you are feeling.
