My daughter called this morning. She sounded great and said her divsion is doing well. She said it tough but everyone is trying to help everyone else get through. She said they mail their letter yesterday(12/23) and the PIR date is 2/18. For anyone out there, I thought this would be news you wanted to hear. Have a wonderful Christmas. This phonecall meant more to me that anything. I hope you all get calls. She said that she thought they would be able to call today or tomorrow. She was also able to call my husband because he was working. I hope you all get the call.

Wasn't it great to hear his voice, I was just so happy and emotional. My daughter said letters went out yesterday with PIR dates. We should get them early next week. Have a great holiday

I am happy for you. Did the PIR date change?

i got one on christmas too. it ment the world to hear my boyfriend voice!
My Husband is Ship 03 Div 084 so they will be at boot camp together and they should also have the same PIR date which is 2/18.  I have not had any phone calls from him besides the one that I received when he arrived.  I was really hoping to get a call on Christmas or around Christmas, but it didn't happen.  We have 2 small children, our son is 2 1/2 and our daughter is 4 months old.  We miss him dearly, and have been waiting Patiently for a phone call...
Oh my goodness, I wish you had gotten the call so that he could have talked to you and the children. It must be so hard....on him too. I will pray you get a call.
Thanks so much, I wonder why some get calls and other don't, maybe it's an earned privilege or something. Either way, I just want to hear his voice and know he is dong ok.  Our son would love to hear from his daddy as well...

My daughter is also ship 03 and Division 085. we also got a call on the 24th. I guess that they are serving together. We have yet to get our letter (even today- just checked the mail). Did you actually get your letter yet?

Kathy Dee

No, I just got home and ran to the mailbox.....as always....no letter.  I will keep you advised. Did you daughter seem happy?

i am hopeful we will get our letters tomorrow - looks like division 085 got their letters out later than anyone. when she called she said that they had just mailed their letters and that was on the  24th of Dec.  she sounded just fine to us. said she had a cold but most of the kids did as well. I think she will adjust fine. she was away for 2-3 years at college and then she lived for a year in a big city not too far from us for a year. so she is is used to not being at home. she felt that this was the best move for her at this time. I just want her to finish her degree and we all hope that the Navy can get her to that goal. How about your girl. hope she is doing ok as well. at least the food is supposed to be good. LOL

Lets hope for letters tomorrow. have a good evening.

Kathy, by the way, my name is Linda. Our daughter's story is similar, she actually talked about Navy in high school and we forced the college idea. She went off to college but did not enjoy it. She continued to talk Navy and we continued to talk college. She moved home, went to community college and worked in our restaurant. When she turned 21, she told us she had gone to the recruiter and she was joining. here Dad and I were very concerned, we want her to have the degree. But the more I learned, the greater understanding I gained about the opportunities, I am happy and proud. We are a close family, so this is a challenge for me emotionally, but I felt so much better after I heard from her. I am really excited about PIR, I think we will see a huge change in the girls, don't you?

wow...that sounds similar to our story. I do indeed hope to see a change. My husband thought that she sounded more mature all ready when she called last week. Not sure if that is wishful thinking on his part or he really heard a change. sometimes Dads hear what they want. LOL

I guess everyone has a destiny and joining the navy was her destiny. Hopefully she will find her way and this might be good for her. She said she is section leader so guess she is ok there.

I have joined the N4M PIR 2/18 group. some good information is there. we also made our hotel reservations and will stay at the Marriot Residence Inn.

Hope to meet up on 2/18. Let' s keep in touch.
