Hi....I'm a little confused. My son is also 4/809, but I saw one reply saying her son graduates in May. My son graduates on April 8th. How about everyone else? Are there different dates?
My hubby left for GL on March 8th.  His PIR is May 6th.
If his PIR is April 8th, he is in a different division, double check.  When did he arrive at GL?
I think most of the guys in 4/809 left in March with grad on 5/6.  When did your SR leave?
hi forevemom!  glad to hear from another EOD mom.  i have made hotel reservations and we will be driving to GL.  We live in Michigan so the trip isn't too far.  I go through spurts of missing my son but right now my husband and I are so busy that the time is going by pretty fast.  I am just so proud of him for following his dreams.  So glad that you have the contact with his gf.  So nice to have someone to share with....
A word of advice for you is to not make any travel arrangements until at least half way through BC as many things can change the PIR date for your recruit such as injuries, discharge, illness and many other things.  Do not stress about this, I made my reservations 1 week out from PIR and got great rates on everything.  When thinking about flying look into flying into Milwaukee as it can save you lots of money and is the same distance to the base as from Chicago.  You are just beginning your journey and will learn so much on this site, if you know what job - EOD, diver, SWCC, Seal, SAR join those groups also and you will learn and make more new friends.
Hey ladies! My boyfriend is in Ship 04/Div 809 with all your boys! I'm soo excited we only have 47 days left until we get to see them again! I CANNOT wait for PIR! Nor can I wait for my first letter from him! So proud to be apart of this experience :)
Hey Devyn, we knew that.... :)  How are you?  Have you had a chance to talk to your prof about your final?  I can't imagine that he wouldn't let you take it a day or two early.  They do that stuff all the time.  What is your boyfriend's classification?  Rescue Swimmer?  I am so anxious to get the first letter too...maybe they'll be reading ours tomorrow..
Hi Moms of 04/809.  Just found this group this morning.  Son left for Boot Camp on March 7th and PIR on May 6th.  He has a Diver contract, will read through some of these post and see if there are any other diver moms.
I'm here Ozzy...thought you were already on...otherwise, I would've let you know about it..sry.
Good Morning Ladies!  I was just thinking that this week we should be getting letters from our boys this week!  I know in my heart that my son is doing fine but i just want to hear it from him.  My phone rang early this mornig (1:30am) and I woke up and grabed it thinking it might be him and it was a wrong #...oh well, that call will come soon enough!
Hi all! My son has a diver contract and is in 4/809.He is 20 yrs old.He was in DEP for about 6 months and was working in fast food.He got cold feet about a week before he left, and the nervousness and fear in his eyes the morning I dropped him off at the local recruit office broke my heart.I'm sure he's fine though..I haven't gotten a call to come pick him up! I got the box and the form letter and am anxiously awaiting a real letter from him.I have been writing and mailing every day.I hope it's not overkill! I live in central IL so it will be less than a 4 hr drive to PIR.I have a 17 yr old daughter and 11 yr old son also. This summer I am moving to Michigan while my son is in A school.I believe that will be in Florida?I'm so worried about him..he NEVER followed my rules..lol..either he is learning to or his biceps are gonna be completely ripped from all the pushups..lol.Mamasan and Ozzy..lets keep in touch about this diver program!I know nothing!
