Just got my recruits address and found out he is in Ship 6 DIV 947.  Anyone else have a loved one in this division?

I so agree. Our son sounded really great in his last letters. He has been writing a girl here at home. She said his last letter sounded really grumpy. Not sure what that is all about. Other than that...he seems good! Hoping they are coming together and really performing as a team.
My son's dad received a very short letter today ... in it he mentioned that they have shaped up well.

Sounded tired, but upbeat, although he did comment that he has not heard from 2 of his friends that he was really expecting to hear from. In the very next sentence, mentioned that 2 other friends he did not expect to hear from had written, ending all on a positive note.

Hoping that since he mentioned in his last letter that they get more time to write now, that I have mail tomorrow. (the last 2 letters were addressed as "To Momma, Daddy, Bubba and Elizabeth"; this one was not. Last week my mom also received a letter, but it was a day after I received the family letter).

On the up side (for me), he explained to his dad that when he gets his next phone call, he will be calling me (he got the last one). If time allows and they are allowed to make more than 1, he will call him but first call goes to his momma.

Most importantly, he asked my daughter to make sure that our youth group, our pastor, our church is praying for all of them while they are going through battlestations. She is tickled for the little shout out.
Sounds like you all are getting some great communication and some great news. So glad to hear that Mom is a priority. I am really wondering if maybe we might get a call tomorrow. I have noticed that several of the other divisions have called home the last couple of days. I am praying that if they do REALLY well tomorrow performing, that their reward will be phone calls. How amazing would that be!

Must have been great for Elizabeth to get a shout out! And extra special that he is requesting prayer.
Just got back from our little homecoming parade. I kept my promise to my SR ... I went and inspected "his" color guard, spoke with the cadets before the parade. Twas extremely weird to be there with the unit and not have my boys there in the midst. But nice as the cadets came to me as soon as I was close, wanting to talk, catch up on what news we have of our SR, and all expressed how much they miss him. Tough but so very touching. So thankful that our countdown clock is steadily moving forward, even though at times I swear it seems to have stopped somewhere along the way! lol
Here is the link to pics from today's graduation. I clicked on the first one and just kept hitting next...

Tons of great pics of the state flags - our 947! Let the searching begin!

You are SO welcome. I am still keeping watch on the RTC facebook page to them to add some too. When they pop up, I will make sure I post it here. Congrats on getting to see your boy!

The one with the US flag!
Amazing that you get to see him 2 weeks early! Very nice looking young man - recruit - and soon to be SAILOR!
Our 947 flags waiting in the wings for PIR to start. The big boy on the end with the cutlass - I believe that's my boy!
