Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Yes indeed! I know that we were all proud ... but to see that 7% of recruits being selected! Man! That is amazing. I am glad that I sent questionairs (and extras for other 900 recruits) with a note that I understand that he is extremely busy so just answer a few questions and send them back ... your mom will be on cloud 9 to even hear back that ... See you Oct 8. In some ways it is getting easier, but in others it is getting more difficult because of wondering if today is going to be THE day that we hear something!

Has anyone gotten a letter from ship 6 Div 947 ? I'cant be the only one going out of my mine. The mailman thinks I'm stocking him. It has been a full three weeks. Waiting for letter hear in Houston....

I have not gotten one either, She told me 3 weeks also. I've been so patient, but its about to wear out. lol. I'm in Orange, Tx. Like Penny said, if anybody gets one can you please let me know also. Thank you.

Ha, your not the only one waiting to run after the mailman. No letters yet. I am thinking that Sunday was probably the first day they could write and it probably takes a couple of days to get to us. Hoping that maybe tomorrow will be the day.

Since I am in Louisiana I am trying to not get my hopes up for tomorrow but will be terribly upset if not by Thursday!

I am shooting for Thursday. If it comes tomorrow, I would be thrilled, but afraid to get my hopes up. I just can't bring myself to pray for patience. I am afraid the Lord will try to teach it to me and I hear that is a hard lesson.

Ok, my daughters boyfriend is also in the navy, he graduates this thurs. He did see my daughter in church this last Sun.. And guess what. She hates boot camp. I sure hope she starts liking it better being that it just ended there 3rd week. At least we know that they are letting them go to church now.

I have been telling myself all week that I will not check the mail until Thursday ... but of course, if some of you have posted that you have mail by the time I leave work, I will of course HAVE to check it on my way home ....
My son's best friend is en route to GL today ... our recruiter says that they may see each other in the mess hall so we have laughed at some of the faces he is hoping to be able to make at my son, as a covert way of greeting without drawing attention. The memory of some of the proposed looks will keep me laughing for days. -

I am so glad to know that they are now allowed to go to church! My ex was flipping out yesterday when I tried to patiently explain (again) that they are not allowed much of anything these first few weeks ... and that he may not have even received our letters by this point. But even if my "baby" does not write much, I do feel much, much better knowing that he is now allowed to go to church.
