...me either. I'm now at the stage of forwarding calls from home to my cell so I don't miss it - i'd just die!! :)
Hi everyone.....I haven't been on in a while...I have had a death in my extended family and I now have my second beautiful grandbaby!!!! James Elijah Walker 8lbs 14 ounces! Soooooo beautiful. : )
I did receive another letter from my son, but he informed me that he had not received any letters from anyone yet. It broke my heart hearing this. I can picture him sitting there thinking......"Why isn't anyone writing me"? I have sent Vincent 14 letters and cards so far. I still have not received a phone call yet. Has anyone received a letter from the boy's since they have actually started their physical training? I am wondering how that is going. Please let us know what they are telling you. We all want to know what are future sailors are going through.
how long has your sailor been gone? I hope mine gets his mail soon??
Hi there...I'm heading off to sleep, but just saw your post and had to comment. First, i'm very sorry for the loss of your loved one, and, congratulations on the new baby boy! I just wanted to let you know, I too just went through the same thing this past week - I got Davon's 2nd letter, and he put a sad face next to his comment about no letters yet - I was devesated! Anyway, I had posted this on 9/3, so I hope it helps you feel just a little better: I found this on the US Navy Recruit Training Command page on FB: "Once a recruit arrives onboard their ship (barracks), they will begin receiving their mail, usually around week 2-3. Please don’t be alarmed if your recruit writes home asking why they haven’t received any mail when you’ve been mailing them consistently since you received their address. Because the recruits move around in their first couple of weeks at boot camp, it takes a couple of weeks for the mail to catch up to them. Don’t be alarmed; they will get their mail!" So ladies, be prepared to get exactly what I got, and know they should be getting it soon :) So Vincent's Mom, he's not said a whole lot about PT, just that there's still a lot of yelling, he's really workin' on shining his shoes and taking care of his clothing...I pray for another letter or call soon, but if he got bombarded with all my letters, I'd almost bet he wouldn't have time to write! :)
I really hope they get their mail soon. I know they feel like we have forgot about them, and that we are going on with our everyday lives. (If they only knew!!!! Right?) Has anyone in this division received a phone call yet?
No phone call yet, but today marks 3 weeks to the day she left. We have received 2 letters. Hoping for a phone call sometime this week!
My son left 3 weeks ago, yesterday (Monday)......sounds like we are all waiting for that call! Please, if anyone gets one, post it so we know they are starting to get outbound calls. I carry my cell phone to the bathroom now! Really......it's sad!
No no no no no - not sad at all, it's the love you have :) I can just hear my son right now, when I get to share with him all my feelings since he's been gone, he's probably gonna say somethin' like "Aw Mom, you're so awesome, you have no idea", no kidding, this sounds like him, and if I have the opportunity to meet up with any of you, I really want you to meet him! Until then, I agree with all of you - I'm desperate for the phone call. Y'all are all so great - I'm glad I have you all to go through this with...:)
No phone call yet:( But I know it's coming, right?
Has to be!!! It's now been over 3 weeks! I'm just so anxious!
Ok Moms and others -

Just got done reading some of the other posts. One mom has received a phone call! A different division (PIR still 10/15 though...)but she does say it was awarded to her son for having the best rack at inspection time. AND.....one a wife said that her hubby called home (they had paperwork issues to solve - that was the reason) and said that other divisions MIGHT get calls out this weekend on Sunday. I'm so hopeful!
I sure hope we ALL get phone calls very soon! I am happy for the other moms who received calls. All their calls, help us "waiting" moms".
