Hi Paula! Welcome! My name is Jenifer and my son, Patrick, is in your son's ship and division. I think that brings us up to 5 moms and 1 wife that I am pretty sure in our group so far. Cool. I like your pic. Is that swearing in at MEPS? My son is grad and go, too. He said that we have until late that evening to see him.
Hi Jennifer! Thanks for the welcome. Yes the pic is at MEPS when Josh swore in the first time my husband was there for the official swearing in the day he left for boot. Josh didnt mention how long we would have but I'm hoping it is at least a few hours. Where is your son going to A School? Having a hard day today I'm hoping that this outlet will help me get through this. Thanks for the Welcome again!
He is going to nuke school
No, he is going for Air Crew in the letter I received he said he was with alot of guys in Special Warfare and Nukes.
Sorry Paula, I meant that my son is going to nuke school. That's pretty cool that your son is going to be Air Crew.
I will write to Josh and ask if he knows Patrick. I dont know how many guys are in a Div
but I will ask just the same. His bunkmate the first few days of bootcamp wrote a letter to me his name is Robert. Josh's letter was very upbeat dont know what to expect in the next one. He is a Section Leader dont quite know what that envolves but I'll find out sooner or later. Really miss him, he is number four in a line of five but is the baby boy!
My son is also going to nuke school. He mention on that form letter that he thought he was grad and go. I was hoping he would say more about it in a letter. If we only see him that day, then that gives us all of Saturday and some of Sunday to drive back to Texas in time for our youngest son's high school graduation Sunday evening. (whew!)
Paula, my youngest son will be heading for the Marines right after his graduation -- his MOS is: Air Craft Crew Chief. So, we have something in common there. :-)
Margaret
Hi Margaret sounds like you are going to have a busy weekend in June. My son in law is a Marine. He tried to talk my son into the Marines but Josh wanted the Navy. Waiting for a letter I got the first one last Thursday hoping for another one tomorrow we will see! Thanks for the note and I hope to chat with you again.
I did not get a letter yet this week. Maybe he was writing to some of his friends. As long as he is ok. :-) Maybe he will get to make a phone call soon. Did anyone else get a letter yet? And, I joined the group for boot camp moms... now I have to go see if I can stop ALL those email notifications! I just want to get the ones from this group... Actually, I don't need notifications, I check here every day!
Margaret
Hi Margaret. No letter yet, but I usually get mine on Thursdays, so tomorrow afternoon I wait on the front porch! If you want to stop notifications for a certain group, I found that you just click on STOP FOLLOWING near the top of the page. It'll be just to the left of the REPLY button near the top. Hope it helps. It helped my mailbox to stop filling up so much. Jen
oh, thank you! I found it. :-) I like the personal e-mails, but will be happy to do without the notifications. I come here before I check my email anyway.
Here's hoping we all hear from our recruits this week!
Margaret
Are we an official group yet? Do we need to be? Just wondering.
Margaret
