Anyone else have a Sailor Recruit with PIR date of 2/7/13?  My son's letter arrived today, he filled in nothing but the return address said Ship 09 Division 076.  He arrived at RTC on Wednesday December 4th.

Double check that division number because we know that Divisions 075 and 076 have PIR on 01/31/2104 and others with loved ones in those divisions have received form letters with that date.

If the Division number is correct, then he has PIR on 01/31/2014, make sure of the PIR date before making any reservations.

Thank you.  I was surprised when he said 2/7 because that puts him there 10 weeks; I assumed the holidays lengthened the time.

Yes, some do have 10 Fridays this time of year and it does happen more for one arriving at the end of the week (See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC), but others have confirmed that Divisions 075 and 076 are the first two regular divisions in the 01/31/2014 TG. Join PIR 01/31/2014 TG 12 to connect with others with loved ones training with your SR.  Divisions 075 and 076 are brother divisions and train together and will have Battle Stations-21 together, so look for others with loved ones in either division.  There will later be a discussion within that group for the two divisions.

BTW, there are Sailors and Recruits, but there is no such thing as a "Sailor Recruit." SR stands for Seaman Recruit.

Thank you, still trying to learn everything.

The Page, What does ??? mean? (A Guide to Navy Abbreviations and Terminology), will help you with many of the new terms you will come across.

Hi KellyL:  Our son arrived at BC this past Sunday evening, 8 Dec - 4 days after your son arrived.   We received the "box" of his personal items/clothing, etc. this past Friday, and received our son's letter yesterday (Saturday), which included his complete mailing address, and PIR date of 7 Feb '14.   Our son is in Ship 04.

Loved ones with a recruit in your SR's division will get the form letter and "the box" very close together. Check the Page I have previously given you.

I've let ellen know you've received the form letter for the 02/07/2014 PIR date. Watch PIR 02/07/2014 TG 13 and join when it is up.
