I think my phone is broken:(  It's not ringing either...

At church this morning I sang with me cell phone in my hand!!!  Did I say that my phone is bright purple!!! I told our choir leader if I walk off the stage some Sunday think nothing of it!!! My SR is calling!!! lol lol  Everyone knows any way. We have another mom who has a marine and she has gotten up and left too. Hang in there we are closer then we was!!!! Well that is what I keep telling myself! lol lol

LitItleturtle.  That is so funny..I felt guilty having my phone next to me or in my hand at church morning.  I know God will forgive us if we run out of church to take a call from our SRs!!

Had my phone with me in church too. And Pastor was standing right behind me during worship...oh, well...still haven't gotten a call:(

We have a quiet group tonight.  March 9 PIR moms are getting calls from their SRs.  That's a good sign---we're next!!!:)  Hang in there everyone!!!

I just heard its 3-4 weeks before we get a call if at all its if they have good time then they can call i sure hope my son has good time sure do miss him cant wait 4 another letter

Hi Candy  I only received the one letter but I think they will come on the same day each week.  Mine came last Thursday so you know where I will be when the mailman shows up this Thursday LOL  I also heard that it would be 3-4 weeks for phone calls.  My son left 3 weeks ago today.  Yesterday a mom from Div 086 got a call so that must mean ours will come soon:)  I keep writing him but its driving me crazy; I feel like I'm having  a conversation with myself.  I have soooo many things to ask him!!   I think my son may have had his wisdom teeth pulled this week! UGH!  Patience is not my thing!!  As soon as I hear something, I will certainly let you know.

Girls, This is what helps me, you guys!! I can talk at work about what is going on in my heart but if they have not been through it they don't know. Some say oh I know just how you feel. When mine went off to college or got married it was rough. I told them BUT you could call them right or text them. I can't mine, I have to wait on someone else to tell my child who I raised for 19 years they can call their mom. I have to wait on someone else to say he can mail a letter. It just isn't the same thing. The support of the other moms on here who KNOW what I am feeling is a very good thing. It makes it so much better to know these kind loving, women have raised their child to help mine. That is a comfort. Girls, before I forget to say it,THANK YOU! You have raised your child to be a good person. I am so glad my SR has people like that in his life. May God give you extra blessings and to the dads too.

Little turtle and Robin-  I think this will be our week!  Letters and a call: Bring it on!!!!! Crossing my fingers, my legs, my arms..... and praying!  I will keep my phone handy, loud, and within reach.  I just instructed my 2 younger sons, 10 and 13, about returning the phone to the counter after each use.  (It is always getting misplaced, covered up, or lost!)  I am ready!!!!!  I checked the mail today in case a letter arrived early.  No such luck. The 2 letters came Wednesday last week. So I am an-ti-ci-pa-a-ting! Can you hear me singing?

LT92- I know exactly what you mean when friends compare it to college or marriage.  Those children still have a little piece of the apron string to hold on to.  Our boys' strings have been cut completely off.  I tell my friends - They are government property now!  I gave away a piece of my heart when Tim made this commitment-  But I couldn't be prouder.

Little Turtle and Kitty.   You guys bring tears to my eyes--I feel the same way.  The days have gotten better but then there's that moment where you just think "when did this happen?".  He was just here with us--going to college, work, golfing, fishing. You're so right Little Turtle--people whose chldren go off to college or get married just don't know how we feel:(  It's such an empty, helpless feeling sometimes.

I'm excited about PIR so trying to focus on that to keep from worrying about how they are doing and whether things will ever be "simple" again.  I am so proud of him, and I know he has chosen a career with a class act group of young men and women. We should all pat ourselves on the back for raising such strong wonderful children or maybe we should kick ourselves in the butt...we did such a great job that they have gone off to change the world!!  It is definitely time to cut those apron strings.   Many thoughts and prayers go out to all the families and SRs.  March 16 is going to be quite a celebration~~

Wow - this is exactly how I feel too. This site has helped me hang on...and even though my family is sympathetic, it's so nice to have people who are right there with me! I can just see everyone clutching their cell phones, waiting, waiting, waiting....

It's Wednesday, and it's mail day for Jeana! Her son left for boot camp on 1/17, just like mine (Ship 9/Div 87) . But I get letters on Thursday. Since our guys are in the same ship/div, hey, any news about the group is like gold to me! It's actually kind of funny to hear they others' perspectives. Last week it seemed like everyone said something about the RDCs being mean, and wisdom teeth. This time I'm curious if everyone has come down with a cold. From what I've seen on the other groups, the "Ricky Crud" has been going around. lol love it...
