Hi JTMama..... nice to meet you as well!  We're from Corpus Christi TX.. My son will be staying in the GL for A school... missing him like crazy also!!

ugh!!!!having difficult finding lodging

Cause they are getting booked or just in general?

Both... Finally got in at the springhill waukegan/gunree. I called them the first time and they were full at the navy rate.  so I called the navy lodge.. I was little fustrated with them.. I tried to book the room with a kitchenette and the lady told me I had to book a regular room and if the other was available on check in I could upgrade then.. I didnt want tot take that chance so I didnt book with them.. i was looking for a mini suite or suite, with two queen beds and kitchenette..  Now I'm trying to decided whether to try the drive  or fly... If we fly car rental ( picking up @ airport) is 275.00 from  thursday-sun..that's with hertz and with my corporate discount.. I  really  need to know if my son will be flying out on sat or sun after graduation, that information will help greatly, if he leaves on saturday, then we can too...

Hello,

I'm from Houston TX.  My son is in Ship 02 DIV919.  Try ACE Rental Car from the PIR brochure.  I found a SUV for 179 for the weekend.  Use promo code GF.  Theu are not located in the airport; however, they are nearby and will pickup from the airport.  Once we drove to New York and it was an extremely long drive.  I think we will fly.  We are planning to leave on 03/15/12.  We've booked at the Residence Inn by Mariott.  I checked Springhill suites, but they don't have the 2bdrm 2 bath with a full kitchen.  I figured my son would like to lounge around and he will probably want me to cook too. He's a southern boy.  lol

hi, just joined this group, my son is on ship 09 div 088 as well..nice to see you guys here.

Hi Ali, nice to meet you as well.  Are you as excited about PIR as I am?  I've already booked our flight and our room... it just can't get here soon enough for me!!

Thank you Vickie. I haven't booked anything yet!! aaahhggghh!!  Yes I'm definitely excited! can't wait, We are from south Florida.. I better get started looking into flights and hotels.

maybe get at the springhill with us.. there rates are 89.00 1 bed suite , 99.00 for two queen bed , 149.00 for 2 bedroom  with livingroom and kitchen..

quick question, I plan on arriving  3/15, but do we leave on sat or sun. Can't really see any info on this and I don't want to wait to hear from my son to book it..
