Looking forward to meeting some moms who have sons/daughters that arrived today June 3, 2014.  My son left from Atlanta today.  Got the I'm here call at 8:36 pm. Nervous and happy for my son.  Do not want to hear from him before the 3 week time frame as that would mean something has happened.  I will rely on the Navy for Moms to get me through the next few weeks.  My  husband has now started reading everything he can about RTC.  He waited until our son left, not me I wanted to know as much as possible ahead of time.  Navy strong, Moms!

Little bro arrived at Boot Camp on the 3rd, we just received "The Box" I had chill bumps when I opened it! I'm so proud of the lil guy!!!!! Countdown to PIR!!! Can't wait until we know his division and address! I already have 4 letters to mail!

Hey everyone whose family member arrived at RTC on June 3rd. I just received "the box" but haven't been able to open it yet since I have to leave for work. I can't wait to though because I asked for him to write me a letter on his phone while he was on the plane and I really don't want to be in tears at work. Hope everyone is staying strong.

Mahogany, I also had chill bumps the moment I heard the dogs barking at the door at the fedex man I knew that he was coming to bring me "the box". Good luck to your little brother.

Hopefully only 7 more Fridays before its our turn at PIR!!!!

That's right!!! It's been really hard for me not being there to take care of my little brother, but he left me as a boy and will be returning to me as a man!! A Navy man! Thanks for updating us! Let's is know how you feel after opening it!

Him returning home as a Navy man will be so amazing! The box was nice to receive even though it was just his dirty clothes. However, the note he left me just made me smile and laugh so that definitely was a positive!
I am a little concerned though because he brought a blank check to set up direct deposit but I ended up finding it in his wallet but at least he remembered his calling card. :)

He'll probably set up an account with NFCU then.

PIR could be 07/25/2014 or 08/01/2014. It all depends on if your SR filled division from last week's TG or this week's TG. See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

I did not get the box today.  Do the SR get to address the box themselves? My son used to live in another area when he signed up and his address was different from ours.  So his address on file at the time was different.  I hope his box does not go to the old address.  Anyone know the answer?

I know about now he is wondering what have I got myself into.  We have been out of town since he left so I have not been responding to the replies.  Just checking emails.  Hope everyone is holding up well...

Yes, your SR addressed "the box" and he will also address the form letter when P-days are over.

See Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

Thanks for getting back to me.  I was worried that I may have trouble getting his box.  Not worried now.  You are a lifesaver for all us moms.

You are very welcome and thanks for the kind words.

Hi! My son also left June 3rd. So from reading above I'm suppose to receive a box with his belongings?? Will they also send his phone. This is the first time i want summer to move by fast... so I can go see my son and others graduate. It will definitely be a joyous occasion. Thank God for this site!!

Yes, his phone will be in "the box." Check both shoes and all pockets. See the info in Arrival and What Happens at the RTC.

Check your My Page for groups.
