Hi Rosemary,

He is on shop 09 division 129. What is your daughter on?  I hope you get to hear from her soon.

Teresa (JC's MOM)

HI Teresa.good news I got a letter today from her! she's on Ship 2 dvision 922. She seems to be hanging in there..it was so greaaat to hear from her.. made my day for sure! take care! Rosemary
That is wonderful, I am so happy to hear that you got to hear from her. Has she been able to call home yet? The area code is 847....so if that number pops up on your ID grab quick. The calls are time limited but every second is precious.  Teresa
NO Teresa.. no phone call yet and I will be on the lookout for that 847 area code! I remember when her friend (he just graduated last month) would call.. it would be like at random times.. like 11 am or 4 pm.. so I hope the call comes soon. Wow I feel like when I was pregnant with her.. waiting and watiting..hmm.. well take care havve a great day! Rosemary
I hope it will be soon....I was telling a friend of mine today how BC effects the family members we are not doing the physical but the emotional and the mental is so hard, I can only imagine what our children are feeling. JC's letters are short and brief and he says that BC is very changling and a bit confusing at times. But other then being home sick and missing all his friends and family he is doing well. I hope you hear from your Ashley soon. Take Care and have a wonderful day. Hope to meet you and Ashley at graduation.

Hey Rosemary,

Both phone calls were in the late afternoon one was on Sunday they have downtime which is called I think holiday routine. He called around 530 pm my time and Tuesday was around 430 pm, the first call was for about 30 minutes and the second only like 8 minutes, but when I see that 847 I can't grab the phone fast enough.

Talk to you later....Teresa

Yippee!  I got my first call today at 5:00PM.  We got to talk about 10 minutes, then he wanted to go so he could call his dad.  He sounded a little rough because he got all 4 of his wisdom teeth taken out on Monday.  He said tomorrow was his first day back to full duty.  He also said he is somewhat worried about PT - his first go round he was 3 minutes slow, so that is a lot of time to make up.  He also said he is grad and go - he will have the Friday of graduation to spend with us, but will have to be back on base that night and ready to go.  He did not know whether or not they would take off that night or the next morning.  He is headed to Mississippi.
Wow!  That is fast!  Doug did say he passed his swimming test with no problem - he has always been a strong swimmer, but not so much a runner - I hope he makes it!
My son is also a Grad and Go but he is staying in Great Lakes.... I was hoping for more time....he didn't give me any details about his PT other then he is a little worried but thinks it will be ok....LOL...he is a young man of few words....just great to talk with him

Hey Carol,

Since your son is staying in Great Lakes will you be able to spend more time with him after graduation? That would be wonderful...

Hi Kim,

I am so glad to hear you got your phone call, its great to hear their voice isn't it. When I talked to my son last Sunday he was telling me that they pulled just one of his wisdom teeth but he had a reaction to the antibotic shot they gave him and ended up in the sick ward for 2 days. But he is doing better now, except that when he called Tuesday that his whole divison was sick with sore throats I am hoping just something minor. JC is also a grad and go he is heading to Mississippi also. He leaves the Saturday after graduation, but I have been reading up on the grad and go, We can't take them to the airport but if they are leaving on a commericial flight we can meet them at the airport and stay with them until they leave I am hoping that this is true. Our flight is not due to fly back until Sunday so I guess we will be staying in Chicago and do some sight seeing for one night. JC says he misses home cooked meals food is a big thing in his letters LOL... my boy loves to eat so we are taking him for dinner after gradauation where ever he wants I am sure it will have something to do with steak. Well I hope to meet you and your son at gradaution, that would be nice. Hope you have a blessed day....

Hi Teresa!  Is your son going to Meridian, Mississippi?  I hope I can go to the airport also.  My husband's daughter lives in Gurnee which is close to the base, so I am sure we will be visiting with her.  I am thinking my son will want a Chicago style pizza - and there are some very good places in Gurnee - so I think we will be heading there, but he might surprise me and want a good steak!  This is making me hungry!  Have you ever visited Chicago?  It is a beautiful city, if you go sightseeing be sure to go to the top of the John Hancock building during the night - it is a fabulous view.  Also, the Buckingham Fountain in Grant's Park is beautiful at night.  Shedd Aquarium is really cool, and Field Museum.  Hope to meet you and your son also, are you planning to go to the Meet and Greet on Thursday evening?  Hope you have a blessed day as well.  34 days on the countdown!!
