I am so grateful I found this forum and I feel silly that I am so stressed out already when he is not leaving for 3 more months. I am extremely proud but nervous and worried for him. I've read what happens in Boot Camp, day to day on Navydep.com. Very informational and I will share all of it with him. My husband thinks I am being silly and is already teasing me that I am obsessed with this website. I think conversing with other moms that feel or felt like me is going to get me through this.

kazzam; Welcome to Navy4Moms, and your not being silly for wanting to know what happens once your son hits the ground running at RTC! My husband teased me at first, and then became extremely annoyed with me. Our son is our only child, and I did not anticipate the overwelming feelings that I felt while he was in bc. We did attend PIR, and am of the opinion that everyone who has the chance to attend does.
That said, your a very smart mom to be looking into the future. I tried to explain the things I learned with my son, but he already "knew it all" and wasn't the least bit interested! Just a heads up.
Again, welcome and enjoy the ride!
Thank you! I have a lot to learn myself but am looking forward to the ride. Yes, my son is the same with the " yeah, yeah, I already know that". I just watched a really cool video on navydep.com with real recruits arriving to BC in the middle of the night and what they do when they get there.
