Son Leaving for Boot Camp July 19th, 2011...Anyone Else??/

My son is leaving for Great Lakes on July 19th. Sure would like to hear from someone else that has this dreaded long waiting period!

He is curerntly trying to get into SEALS training. Passed everything this last time EXCEPT for the swimming portion of the test. We are located in PA so thought it would be helpful to my son to meet new people going in July besdies himself. Actually....it's probably more for my benefit :) lol

Thank you for the info!

Cody is scheduled to ship out July 19th, 2011. He is to keep trying to pass his swim test until that time. It's hard as we don't have a pool around here for him to practice. How did you get a swimming coach? Is that something the Navy offered to your son? Congrats to him by the way :)

GREAT inifo :) Thank you!!!!

My son leaves tomorrow July 12,2011 for boot camp.  My other son is already in the Navy over in Japan and he loves it.  After tomorrow I won't have any kids at home.  It will just be me my husband and our dog and cat.  Life will be different around here.
I understand exactly how you feel. My son leaves July 12th also and it's just me, hubby and the cat. He is going to be a culinary specialist and is looking forward to it.

Hi Cody's Mom, My daughter leaves for Chicago the same day. We are from Texas. I have a son who is also in the Navy..He is a Corpsman. And he absolutely loves being in the Navy.

My daughter Rachel leaves on July 20th for Great Lakes boot camp.  We live in the Kansas City area.

My son is leaving on July 20th. We only live 1hr from Great Lakes so he will be driven there.

It has been a long anticipated event. We are having some extreme HEAT this week, hope it cools down a little for them.

Good luck to you, I know there will be a lot of crying from me.

My son flys out tomorrow for boot camp.  We dropped him off an hour ago at the recruiters office.  Lots of mixed emotions.
