My son left for bootcamp on March 6th and I have good days and bad days. Yesterday, Sunday was a really bad day and so when I got todays mail and found the standard letter with his address and a short note I was just so happy. It couldn't have come at a better time. If your son or daughter is in this division I would be happy to hear from you. Also I would be happy to hear from anyone else who has already gone through the ups and downs or is going through them now. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Phyllis,
I am so glad that you received your letter and that it made you feel better. I haven't received anything about Brett, but I know it must be close...can't wait! I am glad Jarod was able to write a little note on the letter....it's those little things that are going to us the boost we need on those really hard days...you are not alone........have a beautiful day!!!! Big hugs to you!
Hi Marci:
You will probably be getting your letter soon since Brett left the day after Jarod and hopefully he will have written you a short note too. It really helped me on a day that was starting out really bad. I keep thinking the tears will dry up soon but I guess it takes longer than I thought. Hope you get your letter soon and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Good morning Phyllis,
Yes,am I am hoping to receive some info today. Was so hoping I would have an email from the recruiter letting me know the info, but not to be. I hear you about the tears....yesterday I kept pretty busy at work, and kept those tears at bay for the most part....but.....was greeted this morning with a river on my face the minute I opened my eyes :) I guess it will be day to day, but I know I will fee much better just getting some info.
Have a great day....
I know exactly how you feel. Jarod is the youngest out of two and my daughter is already living on her own so I now have an empty house. Each day I just try to remember how happy he was to be joining the Navy and how much he wanted to do this. That helps me cope a little bit better but once you get that first note home even if it is only two sentences it helps a great deal. I still cry quite a bit and friends that are not going through this keep telling me I shouldn't be sad and should just be proud but it is hard not be sad even when you are very proud of them. Any time you need to talk feel free to send me a note. We will get through this and this site has so many people to help with that. The first thing you will get is a form letter all about PIR and hopefully your son will write a short note on the back. That is what Jarod did for me and I was just so happy. I don't think they have much time until they get through the processing days to send more than a little note with that paperwork. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and also with your son.
Remember you have a personal page. Click MY PAGE tab on above menu bar. You'll find posting on your comment wall. One of them has a link to the Survival Guide.Good luck.
Hi AaronsMom..............I hope you are feeling better today. Just know you are not alone! Big hugs coming your way!
Thank you. Today was a much better day for me. I didn't break down until the recruiter posted my son's address on his facebook page. Then I was so happy I just started sobbing. He is in ship 04 div 811. Now I can't remember anything I read about finding a group with this same division. Maybe it's too early, and I need to be patient and wait for the form letter. He has a diver contract so I expected an 800 division. . . I want to send my letters now and hope this ship/div doesn't change. Not sure what I should do.
Also, I guess I shouldn't post his pic on my profile? We took several pictures together because I intended to use it as a profile pic here but it seems like that isn't safe. Should I remove my own pic as well?
I have a Jared in Ship 11/div 131 too funny! good thing they go by last names and last for digits of the SSN even though yours spells it with an O.....
