OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Son sent to Ship 5 and is coming home
My son was sent to Ship 5 a few weeks back. At first they sent him to medical for knee tendonitis and began physical therapy but he remained with his division, where he was immediately an outcast and hassled repeatedly. At some point he was given the physic eval bubble test where they deemed him depressed and with anxiety then decided to send him to Ship 5 to come home. He expressed that he wanted to stay, that going home was not what he wanted but that didn't happen. Now he truely is depressed as he sees his hard work and dream shot right out the window. I think what upsets me is how can a bubble test and 15 minutes with a physiologist determine anything? He has gone through legal already, discharge code RE-3 and will be home Thursday. He plans to go back to school, try to get his job back and hopes someday to reinlist. This mental discharge seems to be very common and more of an excuse to thin the herd.

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. Our boy called us on the 5th to tell us he was being sent home. He expects to talk to legal tomorrow (they have to wait for their name to be called, can't just make an appointment and go) and once that's done he expects to have his info transferred to the travel department for them to make the arrangements to get him home which he thinks will be another 2 business days. Sorry to say, depending on where she is in this process, your daughter might have a few weeks before she gets to leave. It is a little crazy that they are kept there for so long before coming home. Our boy tells us he's just bored out of his mind now.

They give them Tshirt, sweatpants and sneakers to come home in. They get a backpack to carry their stuff in. Well, they don't GIVE it to them, it comes out of their paycheck, but you know what I mean.

I am still waiting. My son sent to Ship 5 on July 31st. I have called the legal department and despite the fact that my son signed all the releases they still won't talk to me as they state that they don't know it is me for sure. I told them what other psychotic woman would call them crying on the phone trying to make sure my son was ok as he has sounded so sad on the phone calls that he has made home. We are still waiting for him to come home, he apparently met with legal on August 16th, but still have no date or when he is coming home. I am also worried about the military sending him a "bill later". He is coming home with no job, no money and no place to live essentially. He did not like high school and I can't see him doing well with college. He tried trade school in high school and didn't liket that either. Very concerned about his outlook and future. I feel that he is very hopeless and this has just made everything worse. He has tried so hard. Please keep us and him in your thoughts and prayers.

Hi ... Just wondering how your son was sent home. Bus? Plane? I am still waiting for my son to come home and I am wondering how he will be sent home. Will he be charged for his transporation home?

If they haven't been in long enough to pay for what they have out of their pay check they have to pay for it

Please remember as well that if they don't have ID they will not be sent on a plane, they will be sent on a bus

Mine was told to bring his driver's license and SS card to bootcamp. It was in the "START" guide the are all given before they go.

If you go to facebook and join the ship 5 seps group, i had heard in there that tickets can be refunded...doesn't hurt to look into it
