Hi everyone, this is my first post here and I"m not even sure I'm putting this under the right forum.

One of my best male friends (we have a complicated relationship, haha) left for boot camp in January. By now he has only a few weeks left!! I am SO excited. The only bummer is that he will be a "grad n go" and will be leaving for Goose Creek, SC, the morning after graduating. His family is going to the graduation which will use up his 4 guest limit, so as it is now I am not going to be able to see him then. He said that once he gets to A-school he wants me to visit, and of course I would love to.

I am not quite old enough to rent a car. If I flew there, obviously a hotel shuttle could take care of getting to and from the airport. Do you need a car to get around and do things when you visit someone in A-school in Goose Creek? Are there any good hotels within walking distance? Are taxis outrageously expensive there? The other option of course would be driving there in my own car, which would be a pretty hefty trip but I'll do it if that's what it comes down to.

So I guess my question basically is: is a car necessary?

Would appreciate your thoughts & advice; thank you!

Hmm. I would guess that a car isn't entirely necessary. I have yet to visit my bf at A school in VA, but when I do, I pretty much expect him to figure out the plans for transportation and stuff when I get there. Even if he's not your bf currently, if you make the effort to get there, he should make the effort and figure things out. Sorry, I don't know anything about Goose Creek exactly, but I do know that the navy has straightened our boys out into men and they know how to be respectful to girls. If you're a damsel in distress when you get there, he will save you. :)

Good luck, love!
