While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

♥We Stitch Love Project♥
We Stitch Love is a program where we create pillowcases and other handmade items for our deployed military.
Our goal is to help these heroes have a little bit of ‘home’ while they are away from home. We are helping them with sweet dreams when they take a break.

Pillowcases can be sewn together or premade cases can be decorated with paint or tie dyed. There are several different ways to make a premade case special if you don’t sew. As long as there is love inserted through effort, they are stitched with love!
A standard size pillow is 20”x26”. Pillowcases should be at least 22”x28” or longer. The body of the pillowcase should have at least one side that is soft to sleep on and without seams where their head will rest. There are different ways to sew a pillowcase. Here are a couple different ways.
Always prewash fabric and premade cases to remove sizing and shrinkage. (Adding a little vinegar helps to soften the fabric and set the dyes)

A different version is to cut the body 24”x44” and use an 8”x44” band. Sew band to body, press seam towards band top. Stitch side and bottom of body, zigzag edges so they don’t fray. Turn inside out, press and top stitch band seam. Turn down ¼” and press, fold over a 1” hem and stitch.

For inexpensive plain (second quality manufacturers runs) visit www.pillowcase.net for large quantities of white or colored plain pillowcases to decorate.
Be sure and post pictures of your completed pillowcases and of any sewing parties.

I want to thank everyone for helping out on the March Adoption! It was a crazy few weeks at my house and taking care of my hubby wasn't on the agenda! Some times men can be more difficult to take care of than babies! He is better except for the attitude! (The doctor told him he HAD to quit smoking because that is the main reason for bladder cancer)
No one has asked for help for pillowcases on the groups/boxes they are adopting this month but if they do, we want to be able to help out. If anyone has pillowcases that they might be able to send to the adoptions this month please post how many you could send! If we get requests to send some, we want to be able to help out! Thanks!

I have 5 Air Force pillowcases that have just been dreaming they could be shipped. Also, another lady heard about our program and has been emailing me this week. She has 5 pc. This is for May 2015 adoption.

Kim has been having some computer glitches. Wanted to be sure you knew we have a May 2015 adoption. We've got almost all the branches: Navy Sailors, Army soldier, Air Force Airmen, and Marines. The count includes 159 males and 11 females. So far, much of the Air Force is covered. We still need 110 pillowcases. How can you help?

Asking prayers for the family of Miss Mildred, our nursing home pillowcase sewer. Sadly, she died last night. I know that the pillowcases that were shipped out a couple of months ago are bringing someone much more pleasant dreams. Please sew a pillowcase in her memory.
