Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

What to bring my SR for A school?
What can we bring to her when we come for PIR for her to take to A school. Her laptop? phone? set of civilian clothes? We don't want her to get in trouble if we bring unathorized items that she can't have. Thank you for any information and feel free to share some special things/ideas of what your brought/are bringing to your SR!

I see you have joined the group, Machinest Mates. Is she going to be a Nuke MM, Sub MM, or Surface MM?If she is surface MM, her "A" School will be at GL and you will be able to give her the things you mentioned once she checks in at the TSC and is returning from Liberty with you on the day of PIR. If she is Nuke MM, she will have "A" School at Goose Creek, SC, and if she is Sub MM, she will have "A" School at Groton, CT and you will have to meet her at the airport to give her those things to put in her black backpack to take with her. Favorite undies are a big deal because she will be ready to be out of her "Granny panties." She cannot take anything back with her (other than a watch, siver colored religious medal, and/or Bible) while she is still at the RTC; you must wait to give her those things until she has moved to "A" School or is at the airport; although she can use her electronics on Liberty.I see she is leaving for BC next week; be sure to check out the discussion, Things to Do in the Last Month Before Your Future Sailor Leaves for the RTC. I also suggest you join New Members Stop Here, Boot Camp Moms and PIR Reference Information and check out the Pages and Discussions there. Thank you so much for all the information! She will be a surface MM so yes she will be in Great Lakes for quite a while!

You are very welcome. Her "A" School is around 9 weeks, but she will most likely be at GL a week or more before classing up. Plan to arrive the day before PIR and attend Sarge's Meet and Greet (and maybe part of another one) and plan to leave late Sunday or Monday to have the most time with her.
