So my baby girl left 17 days ago on Nov 18th and I have received nothing. I got her address from the recruiter and joined the sandboxx. But nothing from her. Other mom's in my group that left have received phone calls and letter but me nada.... It's so frustrating and I'm so worried about her. Finally got her graduation date which was delayed due the fact that she is in a mixed division as she is a girl it's 1/24/20 (in case anyone else has the same date). She must have passed all her tests as I have not heard any "bad" news. When will I get a letter from her?
Hi Kayasmom - usually the letter is received in 9-14 business days which you are right at the 14 business days. Maybe it will come today or tomorrow. Have you signed up for USPS Informed Delivery? Here's the link:
Try not to worry (I know, easier said than done). If something would have happened she would have called you - always remember, no news is good news!
Hang in there!
Thanks - tried signing up for that but it's not in my area. She did get letters from me from Sandboxx so I hope she writes soon. It's killing me over here.
Well that's a bummer that the service isn't in your area :(
Is there a chance she could have sent the official form letter to someone else?
Also, be sure to join the Boot camp moms group - I left the link on your page.
And here's the link to the Moms of Daughters group:
Thank you so much - Ya no way that letter is going to anyone but me.
Ok, just checking. Fingers crossed it comes today or tomorrow ;-D
My daughter left the same time and graduates the 24th of Jan. I did get a phone call but nothing else and let u I'm worried.
Yay we will be there for graduation together. I can't wait to get a letter :)
What division is your rc in.
My son left Nov. 21st and we haven't heard a word from him either. I am not too concerned but did expect to hear from him by now as he called me when he arrived at bootcamp and said he would call again in 2 weeks. Two weeks have gone by and nothing as of yet. I have to believe that I will hear something as soon as he can write or call. I am hoping to get a letter soon or I'll contact his recruiter for more information. Stay strong!
Hi Kayasmom,my son did not write us much when he was in bootcamp, I have three letters from the whole time he was there. It added to the stress, because another mom from the same division as my son was getting letters weekly with a lot of information in them. Just know, no news is usually good news. My son was also in a mix division and he said that it was good due to the fact that they worked well as a team. He said that their berthing was across the hall and that they would meet in a room in the middle.
Don't give up hope that she will write you. You never know there maybe one in the mail right now. Each individual deals with bootcamp differently. When I asked my son about bootcamp (was curious how much it had changed from when I went through) he said that just trying to keep up with the studying and tests was a lot for him. So, by the time he had time to write he was exhausted.
We will keep our fingers crossed that you will get a letter soon. I know the wait can be unbearable and you are imaging all these things that could be going wrong. Try not to worry (I know that is really hard). I dont know if this will help, but writing to my son and doing little things like having inspirational quote thursdays and fun fact friday's in the weekly letters (I would start a letter on monday and write in it all week, also let his sibilings and dad write in it and then on saturday I would send them out to him) I sent helped me but my son also told me that they helped him to. Especially when he was feeling homesick or down.
Update - I've received tons of letters now - she writes everyday and sends them all at once. I'm so happy and sad she misses us so much. I cannot wait to see her.
