While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hello! My brother left last Wed on 1/27/10. It was very hard as we watched him leave from MEPS. I can tell you after one week it has gotten a little easier. My mom got his "box" this Tuesday and his formal letter on Thursday. I have heard that they have to stay up for a while and for me that was the hardest part thinking about them the first few days. I wish you the best on your daughters new journey to become a sailor! I find that writing to my little bro daily really helps. Good luck to you and your family and God Bless!

My son also left feb 3rd and I got the call also about 11:30pm. He sounded like a robot. LOL
He is on ship03 div 139.
He is going into Nuclear Engeneering .

We got a letter yesterday and so did his girlfriend, but it doesn't sound like he is receiving any of our mail. Does anyone know if this is common? He asked to have us send him his favorite comic strip and news articles from the paper of anything interesting. What are others sending in their letters?

I also got a letter from my daughter that she had written on the 15th and she had not gotten any mail at all either. Maybe they want them to be away from any "home" the first 2 weeks. I am hoping that she gets the letters all at once and then writes us tomorrow and answers all of our questions. I know she is extremely independent, did not think she would get homesick at all, and by letter 2...she was...maybe that is the point! Her first letter she said they had 2 hours to write on Sunday's. I run to my mailbox on Thursday's!

Well, that makes me feel better knowing that he is not the only one. We keep sending cards and letters and then one day he'll receive them all!
