While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Worried and some questions
My SO left for boot camp June 18th and I haven't heard a word! It's been 2 weeks and 3 days. I'm starting to get really worried, scared, sad and everything... I understand that more than likely the box and the form letter was sent to his parents or sister. But I have yet to get a real letter and like I said I'm just kinda upset and sad and worried.
I don't have an address, I was planning on getting it from a letter he sends.
Anyway, is this normal? Should I be worried? Did anyone else's daughter, son, relative, SO ship out June 18th?
I also met a girl who's SO shipped out the same day as mine and she got a call and soon after, a letter! I was sorta upset I haven't received any. She then explained her SO was in the 900 DIV. Is it true every DIV is different with letters and phone calls and such?
Sorry for the random questions I'm just a worried new one here!

you should have received a all the night he arrived. I'm not sure if they let them make another call if they can't reach you. My daughter left June 25th I got my call about 8:00 pm then her box of clohing arrived 7 days later. Some kids choose to donate the clothing instead of sending it home. I got my form letter today telling me what ship and division she is in. Maybe you can contact your recruiter.

Soccermom2, Hannah's recruit probably called his parents when he arrived at the RTC rather than her and if he was able to reach someone when he made the "I'm here!" call then he would not have been able to make a make up call.
She should contact his family and start building connections with them if she is going to be in this young man's life long term. She should not be able to get any info from her recruit's recruiter since she would not be listed on his paperwork since they are not married. Some recruiters do give out addresses anyway, but they shouldn't as a matter of PERSEC.

It is possible that he has not had holiday routine yet. There were storms the week he arrived and some divisions did not fill until the next week. Recruits can't mail letters until the Monday after holiday routine, so it is possible that he will be writing for the first time tomorrow, so look for a "real" letter this week. I suspect that your SO's parents have received the form letter with his address and PIR date. There is no reason to be upset since it is very possible that he has not been able to write to you yet.
Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will tell you what is happening. The RDC schedules phone calls and yes, one division may get to call every week while another may only call a few times during BC. See Phone Cards and Phone Calls for more on that. Recruits can only write on Sundays during holiday routine at first and letters go out in Monday's mail. They later MAY be able to write on other days and MAY be able to mail them the next day, but they also MAY have to wait and mail them with the Sunday letters.
