thank you everyone - its been a semismooth couple of days - a little emotional today as I'm starting to accept that my Dad that I've always known is gone and a "new" Dad is now present. been spending lunch and afterwork time with him, and its sad to see the shell of the man I've known.... but little pieces are still poking through. He has had a calm couple of days, hopefully the aggression is under control. we are having problems finding a home that will take him.... What in the world are we supposed to do with an aggressive dementia/parkinsons person!! I wish I could take care of him.... but its not an option, especially since my husband does not have a regular job.
The good news is that Aaron got an A on his physic's mid term! he had said he'd be happy with a B.... I think that makes all A's on this round of Midterms.
Charlotte, that is one cool mousepad.
Carol Aileen, have a safe journey and a great time with your son.
Thank you everyone - I can use all the prayers/advice you have - its been pretty rough. Tonight my Dad had a sundowning expeirence, they could not calm him, the nurse called me and luckly I was in town ( I live 20 miles out of town) and was there in minutes. I got him calmed down, ( my mom took a shower.... hard to lose them both at once!) and stayed with him til he went to sleep. The nurse said we need to be preparing for a lockdown facility. She is going to talk the the Dr about a medication they can give him to calm him down also.
my first thought afterwards was should I still go see Aaron and the beach?? My Sis said for my sanity I need to go..... so still going!
