Here's an update: Was thrilled that Scottie called today. He wished his dad happy father's day, then he and I talked awhile. He is going to WA as in west coast when all done with the Miami, probably December. He is switching boats to a boomer, the Louisiana. He hopes this will help him continue his career more sanely as he is now talking about staying in for 20 years (he'll already have 9 years in 2018 when his current tour is up). Lanie is on board with these changes and it looks like I'll have a reason to visit the west coast!
He was also excited about changing the shocks on his car for the first time. Pep Boys gave him some advice over the phone and then it made more sense. He recently built a gaming computer that he enjoys. He said he had a very nice father's day. I'm hoping to visit by August.

Hello! No change with Scottie. He has been in Maine since March 2012 for improvements to the Miami. Then the fire happened and they finally decided to decommission the sub. They've had the official ceremony and some sailors are moving on. Scott expects to be there through the end of this year with the taking apart process. The sub will then be towed to the west coast via the Panama Canal for the remainder to be used as scrap. He doesn't get to take that trip. He will most likely be shore duty for his 3-year re-enlistment, probably teaching. I think he's hoping for NY, while his wife is hoping for GC. Wel if he ends up in GC, 3 of our boys can recomnect. Then we have to have a Navy moms meetup, OK? Take care all, and enjoy the warmer weather.

Hi everyone! How are you all doing? Aaron's commissioning and graduation is less than a month a way!!! I'm getting excited! He reports to goose creek for round 2 of power school in September !

We're on baby watch as the due date of the 20th approaches. Scott will be home on the 27th, Lanie & Kale are coming before Christmas. Scott made First Class earlier this month. He had signed up for 3 more years so he's in until 2018.

Good to hear from you Carol Aileen. Congrats to Aaron.

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Hi Everyone!  it has been a while since I've checked in here!

Charlotte, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom.   Hugs and Prayers sent to you.

Terry - I hope that Aaron heals up perfectly!  How frustrating for him!

Gail - Congrats on the engagement!  How romantic    :)

Tina - that does sound like a fun adventure for Guy - How Is he liking it so far?

Lorraine, it sounds like a joyful Christmas will be had :) enjoy the grandbabies!

My Aaron is doing well, getting antsy for school to be over with.  He will graduate in June and be commissioned that same weekend!  He will then go back to Charleston to Power school - I've been told it could be a 6 month wait though.    He came home for a quick visit over Thanksgiving, and will be home for a longer visit this Christmas.   I'm going to enjoy it as much as I can since it may be the last time he is home for Christmas for a while!

Aaron has been enjoying the "College" life,  he took 4 weeks off over the summer and toured around Ireland, Scotland and England.  He had a fun time, enjoyed every bit of it I think!  But has been hitting the books hard ever since!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas season!
